I never thought we would have someone complain about playing at a venue like that, but I guess you have to do whatever needed to win......too bad it didn't work. I guess we just need to invite teams that are just excited to play on an amazing field for our stadium games.
If a field doesn't meet specs, the home team can file a field waiver for any alterable rule. Whether or not the visitors complain or even WANT to see the penalty assessed doesn't even matter! If there is no waiver and the field doesn't meet specs or isn't corrected before faceoff, it is up to the refs to assess the penalty. Period!
Your insinuations about PLU Coach Gutherless and the PNCLL as a whole not being excited to visit BSU are inappropriate. PLU and UPS spent the time and money to come to Boise to visit, did they not? Bubba is one of the classiest individuals I know, and would NEVER not agree to play on a field with football width or accept any reasonable field waiver. If Boise State got penalized for their field not meeting specs, my guess (without knowing all the facts yet of course) is that the refs did their job, and BSU should stop blaming the visitors.
