2007 Tewaaraton - Thoughts?

Postby byualum on Fri Apr 27, 2007 12:28 pm

The Tewaaraton Award Foundation has narrowed its list of men’s nominees to 17. Of these nominees, five will be chosen as finalists.

Final Nominees

Carroll, Casey Duke
Danowski, Matt Duke
Greer, Zack Duke
Hewit, Alex Princeton
Jungers, Zach Princeton
Lambe, Jerry Georgetown
Levine, Jordan Albany
Looney, Bill Navy
McMonagle, Matt Cornell
Megill, Ray Maryland
Mitchell, David Cornell
Queener, Brett Albany
Rabil, Paul Johns Hopkins
Resetarits, Frank Albany
Rubeor, Ben Virginia
Seibald, Max Cornell
Thomson, Merrick Albany

I've seen everyone on this list play, except Lambe at G'Town. Any thoughts on the Final 5? Off the top of my head I'd take Dano, Rubeor, Rabil, Seibald and Resetaris.

There should only be one name on the list - Justin Combs

Wow that just happened.

On a side note I would agree with BYUAlum on his selection although I think Greer has had a stellar season but it really is because of Dano.

It would be be between Dano and Seibald.

Like the guy on the "Are You Smarter than the 5th Grader?" show last night, he was asked by Jeff Foxworthy as to how he made his decision. He said, "50-50." I am just taking a wild guess as to picking Dano and Seibald.

see the problem with justin combs being on the list is that it would be an unfair advantage over all the other nominees.....kinda like playing in the masters during tiger's prime....your pretty much in there to fight for second.

Greer, no doubt, has great numbers, but he is a pure finisher. Probably the best left-handed shooter in the nation. But so much of his offense comes from Dano's creativity. He's very similar to Ilija Gajic at Denver...another Canadian who is an outstanding shooter, but needs help to get his shot off. Not a great dodger and not going to run by anybody.

Jerry Lambe gets my vote. A pole could never win, but without Lambe, the Hoyas would not be a top 10 team.

I don't see Siebald winning it even if Cornell wins the championship. His stats have just dropped too much this year now that he is the main threat from the midfield.

Danowski will probably win if Duke wins it all. I think he would be the sentimental pick and he is one of the smoothest lacrosse players I have seen it a long time.

Final 5:
Danowski
Rubeor
Siebald
McMonagle
Looney

I would like to see Looney win it but there is no way that I see him doing it. I got to work at the Navy camp last year with him and he is just a great guy.

When Brodie Merrill didn't win it a couple years back, it convinced me that a pole will never win it.

That is the absolute truth. Brodie Merrill deserved to win that year.

Brodie Merrill and Justin Combs' fathers met several years ago, and the sperm that would eventually become Brodie and Justin decided to create a composite of both of their strengths, then the person suddenly sprouted out of the ground. These days, he is known as Chuck Norris.
