I would have to say yes. One bad loss to Utah doesn't make you no longer a top 10 team. There is an agrument in the fact that maybe Arizona should jump them, but in the grand scheme of things this is a #6, #7 team.

Where would you put them?

Let me get this right you can excuse a loss to the #20 team (UMD loss to Utah) and it is not a bad loss.

But you can't excuse a loss to a #10 team (Mich loss to ASU) and it hurts Michigan's rank in your mind.

Yes and no. Minnesota-Duluth's 3rd game in 4 days, by 1 on the road, after playing #1 and #2 in the nation. No excuses they lost but it was also March 17th, almost 2 months ago.

Michigan lost to #10 ASU @home on April 1st. Then has since lost big to #1 and #2.

Granted a loss is a loss but I think to see 3 of Minnesota's losses as regular losses is a little blind. Lose 3 games by 3 goals.....

Michigan's overall play the last 3 weeks hurts their record. They have done nothing to prove that they belong #4 in the nation. The #10 UCSB team last year had a stonger case for #4 than Michigan does this year. IF you haven't beaten anyone in the top 12 you shouldn't be in the top 5, peroid, end of story!!!!!!!!

I mean I know everyone enjoys a good argument, but really what is the point of all of this? I don't think there are any real arguments on the Top 16 teams being at the national tournament and all the games are going to be tough. Whether you are 4 or 7, who cares, you are going to have to play 4 games either way and I really don't think any of the first round games are going to be particularly easy. It is going to be a great tournament, the top 16 are there, and someone is going to come away a champion.

My top 16:

1. BYU- RMLC CHAMPS!! #1 overall and deservingly so
2. Colorado State- despite others opinions I believed even losing in the RMLC championships that they would stay here, maybe helped that 12 voters forgot to vote.
3. Oregon- PNCLL CHAMPS!! Big wins early negate late losses
4. UCSB- WCLL CHAMPS!! Up and down season, but won when it mattered
5. Michigan- CCLA CHAMPS!! Beat everyone they should have. Loss to ASU clouds the water but doesn't make them undeserving of the rank.
6. Minnesota-Duluth- UMLL CHAMPS!!! loss to Utah definately makes them hard to rank
7. Arizona- WCLL finalist - up and down season, but they beat Noma to get to the finals and that just ain't easy
8. Colorado- up and down season ended with back to back losses to CSU
9. BC- PCLL CHAMPS!! Nice wins over NU, close loss to UCSB but they need to continue to develop OCC schedule.
10. ASU- march was an amazing month for ASU fans but ended the season 0-2
11. Sonoma State- No big wins, no bad losses right where they should be
12. Northeastern- great westcoast trip in early March needs to be followed up with a local tourney - see BC comments
13. Georgia- SELC CHAMPS!! but same comments as BC need better OCC schedule
14. Lindenwood- GRLC CHAMPS!! Went 9 - 5 but if we are going to give UMD credit for staying close with #1 and #2 we need to do the same for #14 maybe even give them more credit
15. Florida- SELC runners up, big wins over other bubble teams late in the season
16. Texas A&M- LSA CHAMPS!! great win over CU struggled in Cali, but beat everyone else on their schedule

At #7, CU has to play CSU in the quarters. If they were #5 or #4, they would get Santa Barbara in the quarters. If I were guessing, I'd say that Univduke is bummed that his Buffs have to play the Rams again instead of getting a rematch with the Gauchos and potentially getting a shot at BYU in the semis.

Of course, I'm probably reading it all wrong...

I mean I am sure that is what he is complaining about, but really, does it matter? UCSB won't be easy, and even if they get by them, then they have to play BYU. None of it is easy, and like i said, they will have to play their best to win it all, whether it is the first, second, or third game.

Shocking! The number one seed has the best draw?

Not always the case. Seeding helps but it still depends on matchups. i.e. see Dallas / Golden St.

Colorado at #7 doesn't bother me because we have to play CSU, Colorado at #7 bothers me because it is undeserving. Colorado has lost 5 games this year. 3 of which are to the #1 and #2 teams in the nation. Another loss was to Texas A&M, this was a bad loss, but it was also their second game of the year. They also lost to UCSB.

I think if Colorado was another team with a different name, that they would be treated differently in the polls. They have the 4th hardest schedule in the nation and their seems to be no reward for that. That is what is upsetting to me. Not potential matchups, but the fact that teams are not being rewarded for hard schedules when others are.

Granted that everyone has to win 4 games to win a national championship, but their are some teams that I believe over the years have been catered to because of the name on their jersey.
