Nice to see Lakeville doing well...I am sure Pierce has done some nice things down there, not to mention 3 years ago they had over 100 kids in their youth program......the schools with strong youth teams are really going to be the dominant forces in the years to come.
As far as lacrosse in the summer and fields and track coaches and all this, I look at it this way and I have been saying this for years. Let me prefice this by saying that lacrosse on the East coast is also a Spring sport. With that said, the only way MN is going to start making a name for itself over and above the "lacrosse guys are very physical because they are all hockey players" is when the best football, soccer, hockey, and basketball players start playing lacrosse. We have sent several kids to DI,II, and III schools but we have yet (with the exception of maybe Hurley) sent the big, quick defensemen or the 6'3", 230lb midfielder to a college.
In the next few years, lacrosse will continue to grow but a change will also come when most schools have their starting D line as defense, the starting point guard playing middie next to the All-state wide receiver, the starting hockey goalie in cage, and the attack is made up of 6'5 basketball players and tight ends.
