It is our duty and responsibility however to do just that. As a coach I am shocked and a much more ashamed that we do not have 100% submission for all these items. I am not saying I have all the time in the world to report these things but I will take every possible effort to do it myself. I will not pawn it down to players or leadership members of the the team to fill out that information.
I would hope that this issue comes up again at our annual meeting as I am sure it does every year, but this time we add some backing to the penalties.
TCUCoach is correct.
In my opinion, when asked who are the All-Americans out of the LSA the response should be, "the best players" not "who had the most points."
Now, many a time the best player in the league has a ton of points, aka my former teammate Jason Dunn. A measure of an All-American is a player that any coach from any league would want on his team, and would start, in a heartbeat. Dunn was that kind of player, any coach would take him and start him at attack during his four years of playing.
Now, what about a great player who plays for an LSA team that is a ball control team on offense, therefore he may not put up the huge numbers? This is where the coaches need to step up, evaluate the best talent in the league, and get those guys recognized.
Second, we can't forget defensive players. I would argue that some of the best players in the LSA (guys that would start at Michigan, Chapman, etc) were poles this year................
Something to think about.............
