I think it's similar to FSU losing to Georgia and moving up one place in the polls. Another good loss.

I am still baffled by how the SELC supporters continue to complain. They currently have 4 teams in the National Championships. What more do you want? You want to be ranked 1, 2, 3, and 4? It's not going to happen. Prove something when it really matters. We will see how the teams perform at Nationals. I don't see any of the SELC teams playing top 10 teams, so they can't be gauged at the top 10 level. Might I remind you that UCSB "romped" #8 Sonoma and played #2 Chapman and #6 ASU to one goal games. Holding both of those two teams to their lowest scoring games of the year. But got "romped" by ASU last week with 3 starters out. A strong defense will be able to get you far at Nationals. UCSB has been able to get it done when it matters...at Nationals.

I'm not complaining. UCSB lost to the 3rd and 4th best teams in the SELC, lost to Chapman and got crushed by ASU. Since the last poll, FSU beat UF and lost to UGA. They only moved up one spot because BC was upset.

UCSB has been able to get it done when it matters...at Nationals.

Again, I'm talking about this year. I dont care if UCSB won every national championship since the league started. They have lost something like 4 out of their last 5 games.

I dont care if they had starters out. You didn't hear FSU complaining that they had their 1st team All conference mid fielder out when they lost to BC, so I really dont care about UCSB's excuses of having missing players. They haven't proven anything this year. Again, notice THIS YEAR

Not to single you out RB, but lets quit making excuses for UCSB, or at least keep them consistent. Not sure how six players goes to three. UCSB is worthy of going to the tournament, but history/reputation aside should be seeded in the 16-13 range in my opinion. They'll have their seat at the table, but there going to have to prove they deserve to be there this year.

They have proven plenty this year. They have proven that they can play with some of the top teams and beat some of the top teams. They have also proven that they can play poorly on the road. So has FSU. But FSU hasn't played the top teams. And you can argue all day about how previous seasons don't matter, but being someone who played for UCSB when they first started to feel the success, it was a lot easier at nationals the second, and third, and fourth time around. When 3/4's of your team has been there before, it makes it a lot easier. You know what to expect. You are used to the high level of competition. You have played 4 games in 5 days before. You know the hotels where you can get the best rest. You know the best places to eat. Now this might not need to be taken into the rankings, but it can be used as a good indicator as to how well a team will perform at Nationals. Regardless as to how the SELC turned out, I still think FSU is the best team in the conference, and if any of the advance past the first round, I think it will be FSU.

I don't know how you get 6, I only said they were missing 3. And I don't care where they get ranked. If they are going to win it all, they should be able to do it from any ranking they get. No team will have an easy first round game unless you are #1 or #2

great

my gig is up as radio/tv guy already... damn Brasky....

On the SELC note. My money is still on UGA. They won the SELC tourney and looked great doing it. They are a VERY solid team. And like RB said- senior experienced team, they were there last year and learned a lot and have something to prove after a tough first round loss.

Hardest part- laid off for 3 weeks. They have some great athletes and execution. VT is also under the radar a bit. Of course- the scheduling of theirs does not help but they looked good at the tourney. And of course the seeding will be tough for them all. One team looks like they will get to wear white though.

going to be some great action leading to Texas Stadium!

i'm curious as to how colorado is still ranked and they're 3-6.

also, does the fact that they only played mandatory games at home have any bearing on pollsters?

i'll throw out a hypothetical...let's say Colorado only lost to Michigan and CSU. how would you think they should be ranked?

But FSU hasn't played the top teams

Tournament Teams- Georgia, Va Tech, Florida, UCSB, BC

Top 25- UCF, Santa Clara, LMU, Utah, Northeastern

You cannot bash this schedule. FSU was very aggressive in scheduling this year and made sure they played more top tier MCLA games then the D2 & D3 games that they played in the past.

I take back my comment that UCSB hasn't proven anything because they, like FSU, proved that they could be very competitive with a very young team. With that being said, I still think their past history is playing way too much a factor in their current rankings.

still think FSU is the best team in the conference

While its hard for me to argue against my school, I think you are severely underestimating Georgia. Their goalie is phenomenal and they have a great chance to make noise in Dallas.

I don't consider any of those teams to be the "top teams." So it looks like we only know how the SELC teams will match up against lower tier National Championship eligible teams.

EvanFSU,
No one cares what you have to say about FSU anymore. You are obviously rediculously biased as most everyone is about their team.

You haven't stopped complaining about UCSB for at least a month. The pollsters know everything that you know, probably more, so just let the tournament seedings unfold. Your team already lost in their conference playoffs, and it looks like you are still gonna get a spot at nationals anyway, along with at least 2 other SELC teams. You need to chill out and go prep for hurricane season.
