Have you guys even looked at records,scores and who teams played? I never thaught I'd say this but I feel more comfortable with the leagues poll!

Interestingly enough, the fans' poll is almost a mirror image of the official poll. All of the same teams placed in roughly the same place, with some minor exceptions in the 9-15 range, but we all know those places can be toss-ups. Seems like almost everyone is on the same page. . . with at least one exception.

I will admit, I went in thinking it would take me 5 minutes to churn that out. You get to pick number #8 or 9 and then it gets hard. A lot harder when you actually sit down and look over everything.

Looking for reasons on New Hampshire and Simon Fraser among others. Just want to hear your reason for their placement, I won't argue it, I won't even reply to it, just want to see it officially. Nobody steps up with an answer, i know the polls are unofficial to the league but then why are they used to determine invites at the end of the year?

Did anyone really think that a fan-based poll would generate less controversy and indignation than the official top 25 poll?

If so, why?

Every voter (or non-voter for that matter) has opinions about who should be ranked where. Some people do more research than others. Some see more games than others. Some actually listen to the plugging of teams on the boards. Whatever.

Looking at the polls together makes me feel better in my vote. Lindenwood is the only team that doesn't seem to match pretty close to the real poll. When you have half the voters and they reach a concesus consistent to the real poll, i think the poll is legit.

As for UNH, I just found it hard to put them any higher because of their close wins against an average TAMU and Tx Tech team. I am also willing to say that after seeing that UNH has lost to Cal 7-6 (3/23) that UNH will probably not be in the poll much longer anyway.

Are you kidding me! I know this isn't the official poll and I will argue more on this in a minute...but, in the also receiving votes catergory:

Minnesota (19), Eastern Michigan (11), Florida (10), Michigan State (8), Texas Tech (8), Indiana (6), Vanderbilt (5), Georgia (4), Loyola Marymount (3), Texas State (1), Oregon State (1), California (1).

I don't see A&M in this thing, but I see Texas State? I know A&M has not had a great season but when did losing to ranked opponents get you NO votes! Regardless of A&M's current record they are still a program worthy enough to garner more votes than OSU, CAL, Texas STATE! (who they beat)!

Enough!

For all those who think it is so easy...you should try really being a pollster. It is MUCH tougher than you think. The best part is that after you have spent 2 hours deciding whether to put New Hampshire in front of Pitt (and you have not seen either team play) people come out of the woodwork talking about what a crappy job you did.

Laxpower.com POWER RANKINGS as of 2/21 6am contributed to those extra votes because of the voters missed our deadline so I used it as a replacement.

do i need to echo that voting in this poll is much harder than it appears on the outside. well.....it is.

i had a hard time voting for UNH cuz, by the time my votes were due, they had only played 2 games and they beat A&M & Texas Tech.

i am a little disappointed in the A&M team this season. but what i am really disenfranchised about is the west coast bias that is happening. A&M, Florida, missouri, et. al, have scheduled far more aggressively than other teams in this league and are being punished for losing games they are supposed to lose. teams like chico and poly arent playing near the schedule and are not losing the points they should for losing games. doesnt seem fair to me.

Going by the fist poll of the season Chico has played #s 4,8,11,12,15,20,21 teams. I think that is aggressive scheduling. Especially when they played the 8 11 and 20 21 teams back to back.
