Recruiting Restrictions

Postby LaxTchr on Mon Mar 24, 2008 8:13 am

Are MCLA coaches restricted in when they can/cannot contact prospective recruits? Are there designated "dead" periods of when HS students are not allowed to be contacted?

As Craig said, no restrictions. However, we generally try to follow D3 recruiting rules (which are much less restrictive than D1 and D2) just for the sake of ethics and continued good-will with NCAA coaches.

In our case, we had school restrictions until this year.

As I understand it now, as long as we don't offer anything not availabe to the rest of the players, we're fine. No scholarships, or tuitions benefits can be offered, or cadillacs for that matter.
