Highlight tape maker

Does anyone know of any good software that is available that I can use to make video clips or highlight tapes? I would like to piece together clips and burn them onto a DVD.

I had the same question last year and was directed to a couple of options - including Windows Moviemaker, which is free, and most likely already on your computer.
I'd try it and see if it works for what you want to do before spending real money for another software package.
