So it sounds like there are some games coming up that will help clarify a lo of the above but not all of it. There is a weekend that should be taking place in St. Paul in early April where Dayton, UNC, UST and SJU square off which will help answer the question of how things are shaping up in the top 10. Anything south of there seems up for grabs right now.
What about the CCLA? Calvin has always been a strong team, but I believe they are observing a period of discipline that will prevent them from taking an AQ or even qualifying. In the spirit of competition, I don't think any team should count them out. Just because they can't go to Dallas doesn't mean they can't spoil a few seasons or be competitive, right?
Dayton has to be the favorite to win the conf. I noticed they beat someone up pretty good, and that there game against Emory was called due to weather, which is too bad because that would have given us a good understanding of the Emory, UST & Dayton relationship. what are people hearing about the Flyers? Did they lose too much from last year? Are they better then ever? Did they beat up a weak team or are they that dominant? After seeing them play last year I bet they are full charged to take the CLLA and could find themselves deep into the national tourney.
Then there's GVSU. Unless their conference is set up so that it can't happen, I'd put my money on a GVSU vs. Dayton CCLA championship, although Carnegie could easily be in there too. I've seen GVSU and they look like they have improved and have found a new attackman that can find the back of the net with some success. It will be interesting to see how they stack up against UWEC and then UST in a few weeks. I'm toying with making the drive to Ames to observe. I think UWEC could be a 15-25 team but haven't seen them play yet this year. My take is that they are very good in transition - seem fast and athletic in the very limited observance I have had. I know that the best teams play a pretty settled game so it will be interesting to see if they can push it like Eckerd did 2 years ago. My observance has been limited, so I guess time will tell. I'll have to go to Ames...

I am really surprised not to see a third UMLL team in the top 25. Bethel, who I believe is the 4th or 5th best team in the UMLL played #2 St. Johns to a 6 goal game. UWEC handled two of the better CCLA teams in NMU and Ferris in February who were both ranked in the top 30.
I disagree with Depaul being ranked at #23. They have yet to do anything to earn it and have 4 goal loss to #14 Creighton and a 2 goal loss to a below average Iowa D-1 team. They also have a tough game next against #12 Harding and could end up starting 0-3.
I do think that UWEC's weekend against Augustana, No. Colorado, and GVSU will go a long way in proving or disproving my UMLL theory.

I dont know if you can call beating Ferris by 1 and NMU by 4 as worthy of getting in the top 25 on its own since they were not ranked in the top 25. Also neither NMU or Ferris made the playoffs last year so as far as last year goes they were not "two of the better teams". This is a new year, i know ferris has taken some hits from players leaving and something with their coach.
UWEC looks to be a good game but more games need to be played to see if they deserve in the top 25.
As for Depaul, you can argue that they were supposed to lose to those two teams. Creighton was ranked higher and Iowa is d1 so you can not give them no credit. Also harding is ranked higher so according to the voters they are supposed to win. So far it looks like the voters knew what they were talking about with depaul and until further loses they will probably cling to the top 25 in the poll.

Where does Metropolitan State fit in the top 25. They beat number 22 Northern Arizona 8-7 and then #9 Northern Colorado but lost to #15 Montana st 10-8. Does this legitimize Montana st and have them move higher i the polls and where does UNC go? How about Northern Arizona who has lost all of there games since the last poll with a 1-6 record?

I think the more important thing in those two games was not that Eau Claire won, but more so how they won. I know in Ferris St.(no. 26 in rankings at the time?) we led the whole way and Ferris St. clawed back to a lead with four minutes to go...but Eau Claire pulled through with 2 goals in the final minute. Then in NM(no. 29 at the time?) game they put 2 or 3 goals in on our backup goalie so the game looked closer then it was...but I know that playing for Eau Claire we are looking forward to the GVSU, Augustana, and Northern Colorado games...as are alot of the pollster's to see how good E.C. really is.

Montana State has no website, or no official stats entered...which is concerning for not only their opportunity to go to Nationals, but also for pollsters....anyone know why they dont have the basic information available???
I like to follow them, as one of the attackmen I coached last year in HS, left to got to R.I.T., and then transfered to Montana State

our website is definitely sorely outdated, hopefully we will have it fixed sometime soon.
as far as official stats entered, not sure what the story is on that but I will find out within the next couple of days and will see about getting that information posted.
i would like to think however that people are more concerned with what happens on the field rather than what happens to get updated on the internet (although you are absolutely right that those things should be a priority as well).

GVSU's info from this weekend will be posted on MCLA.us asap. Our coach is fairly new to the MCLA and is currently working on getting the information posted. The RHIT game is not on MCLA because they never signed the game contract. I am not sure how this will work out in the CCLA but for now i guess it is considered a scrimmage. Sorry to the voters for not getting this up earlier but it will be up soon.
