UPS defeated Western Washington today 11-10. . .Huge weekend for the Loggers with back to back wins over ranked teams this weekend.
I think this undefeated UPS team belongs in the top 10, with 3 wins now over tough, ranked teams in 2008. . .

So who helped/hurt themselves the most this past week?
Looks like UPS is having no problems finding the back of the net and emerged out of the PNCLL as the favorite to take the conference, in my opinion. I use the word "favorite" because from what I've heard there are a lot of evenly matched teams in the conf and A > B > C > D doesn't necessarily work here. I think the real question is when are we going to get some sort of link to the rest of the Div? maybe I'm wrong, but is seems to be a relativly segregated conf, and am yet to see any correlations to the top tier teams in other parts of the country.
From what I can tell NAU has played a very aggressive schedule, but hasn't seen the results they would have liked. I think they could still rally to have a good season and cause a few headaches in the conf. tournament.
What about the GRLC? DePaul was poised to make an early statement, and missed the mark, while Creighton has climbed the polls. Harding seems to be relativly quiet for now, and Augustana lost to Michigan - Dearborn which either symbolizes the emergance of Dearborn, or the fall of Augustana as a power in the GRLC. time will tell there.
Any thoughts of the WCLL? Looks like Fort Lewis had no problems finding an offense out there, but I haven't heard much about their opponents. Either Fort has the offense and D to play with anyone or the competition out west was not strong enough for a very experienced and tested team. Maybe it's both.
Any comments on Southwestern? They seem to have no troubles against LSA II. Any OOC games in the future that can help pull the thread on this team?
Just some random thoughts.

GVlax, from what I can tell it looks like you are updating the teams' records with this weekends results included. If that is the case our 2 wins this weekend give us a record of 3-1 not 2-1. Our 3 wins coming against Western Washington University, Southern Oregon University, and Lewis and Clark; and our 1 loss is against Central Washington University.
The true test of a player's character is not how he wins, but how he loses.

But if WOU fails to post it's score from a game -- as required within 48 hours by league rules but still not done as of this afternoon -- then voters should be free to overlook such an "unofficial" result anyway.

I'm still not sold on anyone out of the PNCLL. While I'm sure someone probably deserves to be top 12, It's so hard to tell without any significant body of work outside the conference.
As for the GRLC, I'm not convinced they are down yet, but I do think some reshuffling is in order. Harding has to be the favorite still, but I think Creighton has moved into that 2 slot solidly. They probably deserve to be ranked a bit higher than they currently are, but thats another story.
As for Augustana's loss to Dearborn, it could be combination of both Dearborn's rise, and Augustana's fall. With that said, the game report said it was Augustana's first time outside for a while, and were without a starting attackman. I think this shows their lack of depth more than a lack of talent. Obviously this loss hurts them, but hopefully voters take things like that into account during voting. But they will get to show what they got when UWEC and GVSU head out to them for what looks to be an important weekend for many teams. I'll be heading down then and let all you know how that weekend goes.
As for Depaul, I'm willing to bet they suffered from the same problem Augustana did with playing for the first time outside against a good team for the first time. They were very hyped coming into the season (a lot by me and someothers), so their lost to Creighton tells me two things. 1.) Creighton is the real deal this season and will be a force to be reckoned with. 2.) Depaul wasn't actually the top 5 team I predicted, but can bounce back. It is early in the season.
As for the WCLL, Fort Lewis is obviously the team to beat, but they really don't seemed to be challenged by anyone in their conference. I think their situation is the same as the PNCLL's, but with more of a reputation behind them. They are very seasoned, but it would be nice to compare them against other established teams.
I think the CCLA is one of the stronger, if not strongest conferences in the league at this point. I know that the UMLL and RMLC have traditionally been the big hitters, but I think this year it is the CCLA With Dayton, GVSU, Carnegie Mellon, and perhaps UM-Dearborn all having good seasons, I think this is their year to make noise at Nationals. Unfortunately they lost their AQ, but with strong showings by a few of them, its still not out of the realm of possibility for them to send 2 teams.
Anyone else with any insight?

fixed. I do most of my scores from MCLA.us but a lot of it is adding the win or loss and forgetting to change the record. I'm only one man. Thanks for the find, let me know if you see more.

I hate saying this coming from the CCLA, but from the look of some games already played, the CCLA-2 doesn't look that strong in overal numbers of teams. There are some good teams but as a whole not so much. In the next month some of these teams will be playing good OOC teams, then i will decide how strong these teams are. I believe only one CCLA teams has one OOC game so far.
Also i agree about the PNCLL, like i have said with every thread, the lack of OOC gams will hurt the chances of PNCLL teams getting in the top 10.

I think the UMLL has only got better with SJU, UST both receiving #1 votes and sitting at 2 and 3 respectively. I think that UW-Eau Claire should be in the top 25, probably around 15--But that wont be worked out till their weekend at Augstana where they play GVSU and Auggie.
RMLC still looks pretty sharp with Utah Valley, Fort Lewis, Westminster, UNC. All of those teams are pretty scary.

I can't disagree with getting teams from the PNCLL into the top 10 without OOC games or without teams above them losing. Although, one thing I'm having trouble understanding is the placement of Southwestern again this year. They are 4-4, which is fine, but the teams they've beaten have a combined record of 5-17. They've never showed particularly well in Dallas, yet they're banging on the top 10? I'm confused. he LSA isn't the RMLC, it's not like these teams are beating up on each other and ending up 4-4 on the year. Sorry to pick on SouthWestern, but it's how I see it.
Outside of that, logical moves will take place & I don't have any major issues with the poll. WOU is ranked too low, but they've barely started their season. I realize they lost a tough game by overlooking Central Washington, but they beat WWU by 10+ in their first game of the year. They still have Pepperdine & Irvine on the schedule, as they obviously thought they'd be higher ranked in the poll...
Western Washington also still have Montana State on the schedule as well & are probably ranked right about where they should be. If I was voting this year, I'd have them a bit higher after seeing teams in Dallas again last year, but they're definitely at least as capable a team as last year.
