13-5 SFU over #14 Lindenwood, that is a big win for them by a convincing score

Def. true and I am happy they won, but I thought Lindenwood was too high to begin with and that SFU was already probably too low. But I guess this proves my thinking.

I thought Lindenwood was a competitive team at the tourny last season. This is a strong win for SFU and will really help them towards their own tourny entry this season. It makes things a little more exciting in the PNCLL as well.

No one has been saying anything on this forum about Justin Blackmore, the Oregon attackman who is dominating the league in points right out of the gate. Who will draw the top defender, Blackmore or Shane, in the Montana game and for the rest of the season??

Judging by the damage Justin has done so far, I think you have to really focus on shutting him down - if you have a defenseman who can handle that task. It appears no team the Ducks have played has had an answer for Blackmore. . .but Shane is no easy task either.

I think you have to pick your poison with the Ducks. Montana's offense will score if their defense can get them the ball - I just think the Duck's offense will control the ball and minimize the Grizz's opportunities. . .and I think the Duck defense is pretty darn good as well.

For the Grizzlies to have a chance in this game, their goalie play will need to be out-of-this-world. . .but we've seen a few games like that from Connery in the past. . .so it could be a decent game. . .maybe.

On another note - the win by SFU is huge for them - if they can navigate Texas A&M today and then finish off Illinois, it will go a long way to getting two PNCLL D1 teams to Nationals.

Down the road, the SFU vs. Oregon game is going to be a good one. As T.O. once said. . ."getcha popcorn ready!"

SFU's convincing win over L'wood has, at least temporarily, given all the PNCLL teams a big boost in Laxpower's power rankings. Oregon moves up three slots to #4, while SFU jumps from 21st into the top 10 at #7. Granted the P.R. is still relatively meaningless until all the D1 teams have played at least 4 games, but it is still interesting nevertheless. SFU's p.r. jumped from 80 to over 85 with just this one win. It also boosted Montana -- who played SFU to a 16-13 game up in BC -- up to #26 with a p.r. of 80.

These numbers will all change alot with the next 3-4 game results, and I am NOT giving them much significance. Just found it interesting what one big OOC game can do for an entire conference's collective national ranking in the computer polls... The SELC teams all took a big tumble today after Lindenwood lost at home by 8. Florida is now the top ranked SELC team, but down to #17 from #10 just yesterday

SFU will need to stay focused and determined in these last two games and not overlook the competition. I think it is safe to say that Lindenwood was viewed as the toughest game on this trip and SFU just handled them well. I'm sure they will play hard though and stick to what has brought them success thus far.. A sweep this trip could see them potentially be named the Team of the Week.

I wonder how the Oregon and Montana game is going right now. I'm also looking forward to seeing what happens in the BIG Oregon State vs Montana game tomorrow.

Good win for Oregon but the streak of games with 20+ goals was broken.

UPS 15, CWU 9. . .

It was all about Reid Petit in this one (looks like he's fully recovered from mono), who was dominant in all facets of the game - GBs, riding. . .and certainly scoring (I think he had 5g1a). . .

Great game until the 4th quarter, when UPS pulled away. . .

similar game with western and PLU, this was a close game untill the fourth quarter.

going into the 4th i think it was something like 7-7 and then western went on a run of something like 5 or 6 unanswered goals to finish the game.

I think UPS was up 2 at the half, and they never relinquished the lead. . .but it was still a 2 goal game late in the 3rd. . .and I think it was 12-9 at the end of 3. . .

tomorrow's game between UPS and WWU is huge. Winner of that game will likely get a bye in the playoffs. . .

Something like 17-5 WOU over SOU... Josh B called me from the road, but I forgot in the 10 minutes it took to get home.

17-5 WOU over SOU was the final. WOU outplayed us in every aspect of the game. We didn't help our own cause by having 20 penalities, that's right another 20 penalty game, to WOU's 3 penalities. If Carter wasn't such a beast in the cage the score could've been much worse. We will find out the character of our team this week and next weekend against PLU. Great game WOU!!
