So has Coach Tiller imposed a gag order on the Ducks from participating on this forum? It has been eerily quiet around here without any quacking coming from down Eugene-way in '08.
I guess it's up to the UofO alums like Brauck, Julian and Trevor to chime in on behalf of the green-and-gold guys...
PNCLL Week #6 (3/5-3/11) -- Predict/Report Scores/Discuss
Wait.. if Brauck is on the forums, whose manning the pumps at his gas station?! You know we can't pump that by ourselves down here!!
In response to the Duck's hiatus, I'll quote the famous Harry of Dumb and Dumber:
"Yeah, I took a girlfriend to a fancy place like this one time. She broke up with me a while ago, saying how I never paid attention to her or something... I don't know I wasn't really listening."
I think for the Ducks right now, we're enjoying 'listening' to how everyone thinks we are this year. Who knows if this concept has helped on the field or not, BUT it's been doing WONDERS for our love life!

The gas station is all good, the guy I was covering for got out of jail and is back at his post.
As to the hiatus, I am not sure how many of the younger guys even look at the board. I guess Tiki here is still plays and I know Thrilla is on the team. Other than that I think it was more of the older guys that were on the board. I know the Tesar kids, Julian, Cordova, Jolly, and a couple other guys roam around on here, but not many say anything. Probably for the better, just gets them in trouble, like it did in the past. Guess they finally realized to let their game on the field do their talk. And I personally think part of it has to do with before there were a lot closer games within the PNCLL for us/them to run their mouths about. Now that the Ducks have been winning in the league pretty consistently they don't need to argue about anything. No offense intended. But just wait til All-stars and Nate can get mad again and start arguing about stuff.

Duck Thoughts....
1. Our new green jerseys (to replace the blacks) are CLEAN! There's pics of them on facebook, but I don't think any on this website. (The black looks reaaaal good on my wall)
2. I'd trade the advantage of our turf for a legitimate home crowd. Parents are nice but didn't we all play at this level for the skirts?
3. WCLL teams have much better sticks than the PNCLL, but the Northwest teams play with more intensity.
4. Our offensive philosophy is no longer the gunslinger mentality but rather a flow... same can be said about defense, rather than trying to dominate ball carriers one on one, our defense plays with a flow...
5. Tiller needs a girlfriend.
6. We're hungry.

I'll save NCInDaPlacetoBe the trouble, and announce his selections now:
1st Team -- Oregon's ten starters & LSM
2nd team -- Oregon's top ten reserves & back-up LSM
Honorable Mention -- Ben Towner, Matt McKinney, Townsend Hall, Nick Tierney, Stewart Allen, Shawn Carman and a few other stiffs...

Thanks Dan, you know me to well. Thank GOD I don't have THE vote.
But seriously, as far as all-stars go I won't really have much to say this season unfortunately. I'm kind of living 3,000 miles away form the nearest PNCLL contest.
BUT, after having seen Oregon play this last weekend, I will be severely disappointed if Jon Matusiefsky is not 1st or 2nd team PNCLL.
It's too bad cause I won't get to see SFU and UW play this season, it looks like both are having better years than in the past few, and I would love to see Cameron play this season after all the love he's getting from his teammates (and Dan).
I'll work with Will to get my photos from Sunday's USD game up ASAP. There is a pretty sweet thriller revival in Oregon green.
EDIT - Definitely pumped for this OSU vs Montana game on Sunday. HUGE playoff implications for both teams. Although, it won't lock anyone in, a win WILL go a long way toward securing at least the 4th and final playoff spot.
After seeing, Montana's Big Three (Ault, Hall, and Cameron) play together in Dallas last year (and play impressively), I really want to see how they hold up against top A division competition on Saturday.
And although we shouldn't be comparing A and B divisions, there is no doubt most people will be looking at this game as a measuring stick. Will Oregon destroy yet another former B Division National Champ this season?...I'd love to see Montana do really well this season, but not at the expense of my Ducks

In the game I watched on Saturday, Townsend played a lot of midfield. . .and did a pretty fantastic job there. He's always been great on the ground and in the Griz ride. . .he posed some serious matchup problems for UW on Saturday when they got him the ball in space.
OSU's defense has been pretty darn good this year, and we know Josh is very solid in the cage. I think the Beaver-Grizzly matchup will be a great game. . .and extremely intense with so much riding on this contest.

I think it's a little funny to single out the Ducks for a lack of chatter... all I see on this board are us "coaches" avoiding our "jobs."
Seriously though, whatever the result on Saturday, I know that game is going to make me feel very proud. I can remember pretty clearly my last game at Oregon in 2004 where our 13 man roster was handed a 28-2 loss... This was an Oregon team just emerging as a national force and a Montana team that came together literally as soon as this game was over and decided to get real or shut it down... the strides that both our teams have made since then have been pretty amazing in my opinion and I think the game itself signifies a special moment for this conference.
I've had a great time getting to develop a relationship with former Coach Kerwin during our 3 consecutive trips to nationals and it's always a blast to cheer for your conference at those games, when really the only other people there are some parents (in reality the crowds are usually better at regular season home games). Last year was especially cool to have such an emotional semi final day for both Oregon and us... I remember feeling entirely drained when our game with Westminster ended, only to get all jacked up again watching the Ducks rally later that night... last season was a pretty amazing ride for both our teams. I know we are both trying to get that "magic" back, make another run... they're addictive you know!
It doesn't appear to me like the Ducks have taken much of a step back and we know we're in for a good fight this weekend. I can tell you for sure that I won't be disapointed in the result though... since we'll be wearing matching uniforms and have more than 3 subs.
... I'm as bored as Dan though, so feel free to let the chatter continue.

Tiller didn't want me to say anything, but the guy to replace Julian this year is this monster named Chad. 6'7 245, STACKED attackman. Our whole game plan revolves around this guy from "THE SWAMPS". Shoots around 107, dodges like a charger, rips corners like you open an envelope, and pulls biddies like CasaSUPERnova. Dude is finishing up his suspension after he took on an entire fraternity in a rec hockey game, should be back this weekend for the doubleheader. You want a scouting report? Scout Zeus with a lax stick. YEAH!

We could have kept our game in Pullman. I don't know how we do it but we always seem to get all those sorority girls at our games.

Ecstatic, Brauck. Ask and ye shall receive...
By the way, exactly how big ARE this guy's boobs, anyway?

I would give Chad about 200, soaking wet. Everything else is COMPLETELY true, especially the lady killer part
