VT's first game of the year should be interesting. They looked good in the fall at the Clemson tourney. Definitely my pick for SELC champs this year. Look for a good game between Clemson and Georgia State.
SELC Division 2
Fri Feb-29 Alabama @ Emory
Sat Mar-1 Baylor @ UNCC
Sat Mar-1 Elon @ Southern Virginia
Sat Mar-1 Eckerd @ Kennesaw State
Sun Mar-2 Eckerd @ Emory
Alabama and Emory should go towards Emory, but I am interested to see how this new Alabama team is playing. The majority of the team are Freshman...and they have faired well against Furman and KSU so far this season. They're a good bunch of guys so hopefully this is the beginning of the turn for the better. Eckerd and KSU will be a good game also. KSU is still a VERY young team. Even though this is their third season, the team is 63% freshman and 22% sophomores. They get better with each game but still (IMHO) aren't over the playoff hump "yet". They have to beat Furman for that #2 spot from last year.

Wed 27-Feb South Carolina @ Davidson South Carolina
Fri 29-Feb Alabama @ Emory Emory
Sat 01-Mar Baylor @ Charlotte Charlotte
Sat 01-Mar Appalachian State @ South Carolina South Carolina
Sat 01-Mar Elon @ Southern Virginia Elon
Sat 01-Mar Eckerd College @ Kennesaw State Eckerd
Sun 02-Mar Eckerd College @ Emory Emory
Preview:
A relatively short week in the SELC-2 as schools start their spring breaks. Davidson opens the week hosting SELC-1 program, USC. I don't see Davidson's relatively weak schedule played helping them out in this game. USC wins by about 7 goals, possibly more. Alabama contiues its strong effort this season in a game at Emory. Emory will win, but once again the Crimson Tide will show strides of becoming a competitive team. Charlotte finishes a home stand with LSA-1 opponent, Baylor. This game will be VERY close. Playing in Columbia on Friday night, then in Charlotte at 10 the next morning will tire out the Bears. South Carolina hosts App State in a competitive match-up. Elon will win in Virginia, showing why they should be ranked higher. Eckerd travels up to GA to play KSU and Emory. Eckerd will win the KSU game in a close margin. Eckerd @ Emory finish the week with my Match-up of the Week. Eckerd will show bursts, but Emory will win in the end, adding to their already impressive season so far.
Good luck to all SELC-2 teams this week!!!

Breaks my heart.
Emory over Bama 19-2.
Emory's speed in transition was too much for the YOUNG Bama team. Bama had good numbers, were organized and knew what to do and didn't play poorly on settled play. Their team is nowhere near where it was 4 years ago (in a good way) and I hope it continues to improve the way it has.

USC over Davidson this past Wednesday 10-4.
USC over Baylor in a close down to the wire game by one, I think somewhere in the neighborhood of 11-10.
