Instead, while traveling through Seattle, the players found 15 homeless vagrants to play for them. Each player gave 14 homeless men and one tough homeless woman their gear and jerseys and sent them to represent the team. As payment we also gave each homeless person a cardboard box to provide housing and shelter for the next several months. The homeless played hard and displayed decent stick skills for having never played the game before. However, Western Washington would not be denied their 25 goal win, for it would give them ultra-power-boost for the rest of the season, and they pressed hard throughout to attain sweet victory. After the game, we fed the homeless a nice warm meal and thanked them for their services and sent them on their way, one cardboard box richer and a lifetime of memories happier.
Who writes that up for a game report? Were there really bums playing lacrosse, I would have loved to see that. They would have been asking for change while getting scored on.... wow. I love the professional write up.
I'm more impressed that all 15 homeless found time between panhandling and busking to carry 12 credits at Willamette.
