D2 playing up to D1

I would have to agree - a D2 team playing up a division has no bearing in my voting. Technically, the D2 team is supposed to be at a disadvantage. If we vote against teams playing up there is no incentive for either team to play the game D2 v D1 games. Most teams (especially D2) are trying to get competitive games to get ready for their season and test their talents and weaknesses. SJU should be commended taking the game - especially considering the volume of games they played this weekend.

Just my two cents.

I would have to think Charlotte moves up, given the circumstances of their loss to UST. I would also not be surprised if UST dropped a spot or two. But I really hope that may teams not starting until later in the season don't get penalized in the voting simply for being idle

Well i wouldn't penalize UST too much because they still won overall. Charlotte will probably move up. I don't think UST can fall farther than 4 unless Emory also moves because they beat Emory.

How does UST drop for playing two T15 teams? And winning? I don't think anybody here should think that there is going to be much difference in the quality of teams within the T15, and even the T25 right now. Firstly, it's too early in the season (there's lots of room to climb and fall). Second, the parity in this league amongst top teams is growing - especially the top teams within each conference, as evidenced by looking back at most of the D2 scores in Dallas last year to see that every game was fairly close. I don't recall any major blowouts. UST played and won two very close, hard-fought games. UST had less than 24 hours rest before a very good UNCC. For guys expecting major blowouts, I just don't see that happening.

I agree completely, its to early in the season to tell who is legit and who is not.

I apologize if my response came across wrong. I was only continuing the discussion. It was a great subject that a lot of poll voters need to think about at this point in the season.

I agree UWEC played some good games but CWU who beat# 16 WOU who beat # 9 WWU will most likely be the first team to jump into the top 25.

As for Charlotte having one of the top attackmen in the country I do not know, but from I heard from the St. Thomas team, they have one of the best defensemen. Can anyone shed some light?

With the departure of Montana, the PNCLL D2 is wide open. . .which was evidenced by the fall of #9 WWU in their first game. And then #16 Western Oregon, who handled WWU 21-11, dropped a close one to Central Washington the next day 14-12. There are other PNCLL teams that will likely be in the mix as well, so it's going to be very interesting. I would be shocked if any team went through the regular season undefeated like Montana did the past 2 years.

Central Washington, after the big win over WOU, deserves a spot somewhere in the top-25, without a doubt. I have no idea which team will be displaced, but if you beat a ranked team in week 1, you deserve a spot in the poll despite being overlooked in the preseason polls.

Fellow Joe T...the player on UNC-C is Lynchburg transfer Steve Ruane at defense.

UNC-C is underrated and a very good team. They should be a top 10 if not a top 5 MCLA DII team. Its way to early to figure out whos on top and who is on bottom, its not even March yet and its 30 below out in Minneapolis this morning, Im surprised that I can even function at this temperature. :D

UNC-C does have a very good attackmen, probably the best out of SELC DII

Our game against KSU was stopped by the schools administration so the coaches nessacarily had no choice.

UWEC should be a top 15 team, they only lost 3 players last year and have gained some upcoming Wisconsin talent, they have a few studs on the offensive side of the ball and big hitters on D, Ryan Czapar being one of them. Their biggest test will come against Northern Colorado in April, look for that game to possibly affect the rankings and to display how good UWEC is becoming.

Depaul idle up 2

haha only thing that can explain this is that early polls should be taken with a grain of salt. Lets wait till each team has atleast 2 games under their belts before we start talking about who should be in the top 10, 15, 20 and 25.
