i'm gonna try my luck here at this weeks pick'em. i'm riding high since i was one of ten people to pick the G-men over patriots!! picks are in bold

let me first say that i really hope we sweep all OOC games this weekend, but the realist in me won't allow to pick this way.

Saturday, Feb. 16th
Oregon State at UCLA 1:00pm
PLU vs Nevada (at SOU) 1:00pm
Boise State at Gonzaga 1:00pm
Western Oregon at Western Washington 1:00pm
Willamette at Central Washington 1:00pm
Washington vs California (at UCLA) 1:00pm

Sunday, Feb. 17th
Pacific Lutheran at Portland State 12:00pm
Nevada at Southern Oregon 12:00pm
Willamette at Western Washington 12:00pm
Western Oregon at Central Washington 12:00pm
Whitman at College of Idaho 12:00pm
Oregon State vs Stanford (at UCLA) 1:00pm
Washington vs USC (at UCLA) 1:00pm

word out of So CAL is usc is legit so its hard for me to pick against them in here. oregon state rallys to finish the weekend strong. DII wou has a lot of last years fire power back and with western breaking in a new goalie this year it could be a perfect storm for WOU to establish themselves as the team to beat this year. PLU lost most of their starters last year only bringing back there young but mature attack group led by t-chuck and K rose at the mid line should be a pretty good one two punch. don't be surprised if you see them in the mix late this year. good luck to everyone this weekend, rep the pncll strong!!!

I won't make too many predictions on games within the PNCLL. . .but I see UW winning one if not both of their OOC games this weekend. . .and I think you are wrong DRose on SOU. . .I think they'll beat Nevada this weekend.

Is anyone else going to be at the WOU vs. WWU game this weekend? I think the winner of that game becomes the obvious frontrunner for the #1 seed and the bye in the PNCLL DII this season. . .I think WOU's national ranking was a little low, to be honest. This is their opportunity to vault themselves into the top 10 in the nation. I'm really looking forward to it.

And to the Lutes down in Ashland. . .I know you lost a lot of key guys from the '07 squad, but I saw some serious talent at that alumni game in the fall and I still have faith you guys can make some noise this season. I hope the Lutes and Raiders can show everyone again how deep the PNCLL DII is this season. Good luck against UNR. . .

21 - 11 WOU wins
CWU over Willamette
GU over BSU

That's all I got for now. CWU was convincing, but I don't remember the score. GU won by 5 or so... I don't remember for sure as i was driving trying to get lots of updates. On a positive note, UPS is hosting a kids clinic this weekend & I was able to rustygate a 3rd grader... That sound familiar SFU?

GU won over BSU. Started slow, but both teams came on in 2nd half. There was no scoreboard, but I believe the final was 7-10.

WWU WOU update. Looks like Healy is out for the season with an ACL, Chupika (sp) is also out but I don't remember the injury or the time line. Sounds like WOU was farely dominant, lots of penalities, but WWU is going to have to find a bit of a new identity without Healy at attack. I can't even remember that team without him finishing low angle shots & coming up with ground balls he shouldn't have. Congrats on the big win WOU, I'm sure WWU would love a rematch if they get a chance. WOU might want to grab some t-shirts with targets on your backs now, everyone will be gunning for you.

unr over PLU

sounded like a descent game. PLU just couldn't find a shot only getting something like 23 shots, good shooting percentage, just not enough shots.

Great job by the Beavs. . .it looks like they are finding their offense.

As for the WWU vs. WOU game. . .Western Oregon never trailed in the game. I think they started out the game up 6-0 very quickly. They really didn't have trouble scoring. There were tons of penalties in the game (19 for WWU, 15 for WOU). . .but really the difference in the game was the WOU midfield. They really attacked and broke down the Vikes with some solid dodging, feeding, shooting and finishing. I don't know the totals, but they had a bundle of assists as well. WWU was missing several All-Stars from the 2007 team, and it showed.

It's only mid-February, so I think WWU has plenty of time to watch the tape and fix some of the problems we saw today. I expect this game will be much more competitive if these teams meet again.

It was great to see the Wolves playing so well. Great team offense, great goalie play. . .and fantastic hustle on the ground. I don't know the GB totals, but I'd have to guess it was about 2:1 for WOU.

The Wolves are for real and are going to be a difficult team for any DII team to stop. I know they play 3 OOC games in California, so it will be interesting to see how the DII from the WCLL compares to this team.

Great coaching job by Dave Homma as well. He has his guys really playing well as a team this early in the season.
