NCAA Competition

Does beating or losing to an NCAA team have any effect on a teams MCLA Top 25 poll standing? Or is the standings just suppose to be against MCLA competition?

"supposedly" it does not affect it, but "supposedly" Div 1 vs Div 2 does not matter either. I would like to think it would matter, but i am not a voter.

As a voter, I only use NCAA results if I know the contest is being played as a game and not as a scrimmage. Most are played as scrimmages, but there are a few played as games. If you know the relative strength of the NCAA team, they can be just as good an indicator of a team's level of play as a game against an MCLA team.

As a voter I look at everything -- including competiton against NCAA teams. As JP said, scrimmages don't count and are dismissed entirely, but a win or competitive loss by any MCLA club against a varsity team ina real game only helps that club in my eyes. I don't think any team's relative ranking was ever "hurt" by a loss to a varsity opponent in my voting, but a few got bumped up a little as the result of a good outcome.
