Mine has been sporadic through the day. Won't work for 15 minutes, then all a sudden get an email in, then not work again.

Mine seemed to work find yesterday. I was having some work done to my machine and our IT guy said that he thought something was going on with my Blackberry service.

This is just a preview of when the EMP hits. While you are thumbing in vain, I am studying water purification and hydroelectric plant maintenance.

Cheers!

The article mentions a guy getting 1,000 emails a day.

That's insane. It's just under 1 a minute and there is no way I could keep up with that.

This isn't really related...but, does anyone have the Pearl 8130? I'm looking at renewing my service with Verizon and I'm looking at that phone. I've heard a lot of good things about it and I'm just curious if anyone else is using it. Thanks.

Also, I don't know if anyone has brought up cell-phone providers, but I'd be interested in hearing about the different selection (T-Mobile, At&T, etc.) Is Verizon the best? Again, just curious to what you guys think. Thanks again...

I have a blackberry pearl and absolutely love it. The OS is not as functional as some others out there but its, but it is light enough to keep in your pocket (please no hip holsters) where you dont feel it. Not only do i have my work email on it but also have my hotmail and both work very smoothly. The keyboard took a week or two to get use to, but now i love it.

I have tried the different Treos and even the prestigious iPhone and just dont like the 5lb brick in my pocket all day.

I have the Pearl as well. It's a great phone. I for one hate the contractor look with a phone on the hip. There's a nice pocket case that has the magnet imbedded that I use. It's a great phone. Due to how connected I am with work and lacrosse I actually prefer the manual download for emails.

The 8130 is smaller screen and overall size. It doesn't have full keyboard so its got Multitap. Has a nice camera and MMS. Trackball just like the 8830 World Edition. And has lots of colors available. Heard of a few issues with call logs and text messages deleting but thats about it.

How about carriers? Is Verizon still the way to go?

had this happen to me and a co-workers curve. the issue is it runs out of internal memory so it starts removing stuff randomly. All i had to do was delete the 300+ pictures that i had stored and did not have any more issues.

Carrier all depends on where you live. Basically all of them are horrible, customer service takes forever and they will find someway to scam you. I personally went with ATT because that is the only service that works well at my cabin in northern minnesota. So if you plan on making trips up there, go with ATT.

Depending on the plan you're interested in, T-Mobile may offer you a much better deal than Verizon. Through T-Mobile I have 1000 minutes/month and free nights & weekend, for $40.
