From my understanding UCSB won today 12-5 or something close to that. I heard they were up 11-1 and had several opportunities to widen the margin but did not finish well... seems like they're starting to click a little better than they did last weekend.

I just got back from the game. UCSB began pulling starters in the second half, and had them all off the field by the start of the fourth quarter. Everyone got to play. It's kind of nice to see that.

This game however brings up an interesting point. Assuming there are no upsets in the WCLL LA Division, UCLA has already ended their season. But this is very early in the season. I think they have played three games. Their only chance of making the playoffs is to wait for some upsets. I don't know if there was any strategy behind this, but if they had won either the UCSB or Chapman game, people would have been calling them brilliant for scheduling the games early in the season. It just seems a little odd to me to determine your playoff fate so early in the season. Just thought I would throw this scheduling issue out there.

NDNU 17 Claremont 10

3-3 after the 1st, 6-4 with 3 minutes left in the half, and NDNU goes on a 5 goal run, to make the game 11-4 at half.

Second half was played virtually even.

UCSB-9

USC- 7

USC held the lead until the last few seconds of the 3rd and played it tight in the 4th giving up a couple tough transition goals. Nice showing by my boys. Close...but no cigar.
