WCLL Strength
I was just looking over the pre-season polls and realized that 6 out of 25 teams are from the WCLL. This means that over 20% of the nation's top teams are from our conference. Not only that, each division has at least one team representing it (LA and South have two). Now I'm just wondering when we're going to get more than one automatic bid to Nationals when it's pretty clear that we are one of the strongest conferences in the land...

It really doesn't matter if the WCLL gets one more bid. The two teams that make the WCLL final will be in the tournament anyways. And even if a long shot team makes the finals and loses, the team will have to have just won some big games against top 15 teams at the end of the season. They would probably make it as well.
As far as WCLL strength goes, this is not one of the strongest years. In past years we have had 5 or 6 teams go to Nationals. The north is looking to have another weak year, but the south is looking up with UCSB, Chapman, Arizona, and ASU.

The LA Division is going to be brutal this year with UCSB and Chapman (finally playing for something!) at the top. I will have to give the edge to the Gauchos already simply because the game is at the Pit. Not quite the turf in Orange, CA. I would put LMU, which will have one of the strongest offensive units in the MCLA, a close 3rd. The sleeper team could be Southern Cal.
Look for the Trojans or Bruins to catch someone by surprise this year. Man I can't wait to catch some games!

Could that be because the WCLL has 8 voters while most other conferences have 2-4.
The answer is no. Asked and answered almost every year since the league has been in existence.

Will,
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't see any way that LMU could be considered a top offense in the MCLA. They might have the #3 offense in the LA division of the WCLL south, but not the entire MCLA. UCLA and LMU always have the potential to surprise teams, but I think the shocker this year will be SDSU or possibly Cal. But it's great that people are getting fired up about the season.
