ok, does anyone have a non-java way to put the rss feed on our website?

Whitman college requires websites using their server to use the FarCry content management system for formatting purposes, and FarCry rejects java for some odd reason. any help?

I'll try to have something up in the next day or two that doesn't require javascript unless someone wants to get one up earlier.

javascript? that just seems silly. a few quick lines of PHP can parse any valid RSS feed, and they operate server side to reduce overhead in the web browser.

if you aren't a php expert, there are a few pre-built parsers out there:

http://magpierss.sourceforge.net/
http://simplepie.org/
http://lastrss.oslab.net/
http://www.suttree.com/code/rss/

Most of those work with popular CMS suites, including wordpress, typepad, drupal and moveable type.

yeah, i still don't get how to do it. i don't really 'do' code - we at whitman would rather bang rocks together than spend time on our computers.

Awesome fellas. Once it's set up, it's an easy way to add "fresh" headlines without any further work to your team web site.

Keep em coming.

Fellas,
If anyone checks out www.uclalacrosse.ialax.com please let me know if the banner is being displayed properly and what browser you are using. I have been having a few problems with it.

Thanks!
