From what I hear, this should be a great year for the UMLL. It sounds like it's going to be very competitive, with plenty of talent across the board returning from last year and lots of freshman talent added to the rosters.
Division 1:
1) UMD - Lost 4 seniors, but 3 were All-Americans. Still return plenty of talented, competitive players. Will also be playing an extremely tough schedule this year, including Michigan, BC, CSU, Arizona, etc.
3) UofM - Don't want to divulge too much information about my squad, but...We return all of our starting defensmen and attackmen, with quite a few additions across the board. Big question is if we can overcome our youth this year to play like a veteran team.
3) Marquette - Very impressive run last year, and were better than the final standings showed (lost a couple close games from what I can remember). Don't know what kind of talent they lost, but I nonetheless see them as being a contender this year.
4) St. Olaf - Lost Jack Macintyre, but return Greg Olsen at attack, and Hockert at the midfield. Did I hear rumblings of another stud middie who's just a freshman?
5) Mankato - Lost Jason Henrickson to graduation right as he was really starting to heat up as a player, and Trevan Shepard graduated as well. With your top two scorers from last year gone, it's always hard to have someone new step up and take the reigns of the offense.
5) Iowa State - Had a young team last year that will have another years experience now. I have no idea where ISU will finish this year.
6) St. Cloud - Played us awfully hard all four quarters of our game last year, and with Grannes as coach you don't want to underestimate them.
Stevens Point - Lost Matt Kennedy and Josh Fast, their two leading scorers, to graduation. Should have some studs at defense this year, but it's hard to tell how much firepower they'll have on offense.
Wish I knew more about the UMLL Division 2, but I'm still not familiar enough with the teams to make predictions for them.
