Employee Fired For Catching Shoplifter

I saw 2 people shoplifting over the holidays. Both were eventually arrested. Undercover shoppers were involved with both arrests. The one woman was just too obvious. She looked like she just finished taking some rock blasts and decided to shop the men's section at Macy's. The cop was behind her the whole time.

Did you happen to hear what kind of music the store had on the overhead speakers?

No, should it have been the tune from Deliverance?
Sorry I missed you on your last visit to the 'hood.

I think i agree with some of the responses that ask "since when is a shoplifter a customer?" inreference to the company policy of not touching customers.

also, is shaking someone's hand from employee to regular customer considered "touching" and, thus, a fireable offense?
peace.

Gee, the establishments I frequent usually have the opposite policy - no touching the employees!
