College Football Pick 'Em

Postby cjwilhelmi on Thu Dec 06, 2007 5:12 pm

I know that we started to discuss this in the previous thread but I wanted to create one dedicated to this. (could someone please sticky this until after Jan 7th)

I have had a good response so far from individuals. If you are interested in participating I need a PM from you with your email address.

I will be sending out a massive email Saturday night with the excel file for everyone to fill out. Deadline will be 3 days before the first game to get everything back to me.

I will be posting updates in this thread.

I have two thoughts for this year, if you are participating let me know by later on tonight (through this thread) which one you prefer.
1) We use a Confidence ranking for each game (you get it right you get extra points)
2) We go by the old win/lose record that we did last year.

For tiebreakers we will be using the Championship game spread and a secondary tiebreaker will be picking the spread of the Hawaii/Georgia game.

The winner will get a custom strung head from me. Probably the head that I stole from Taragowski a couple years ago.

Thanks,

Corbin

I thought there was a nice spread last year with just wins and losses (have we ever needed tie-breakers? just curious I know we need em just in case ).

Count me in. But you better come up with a conditional prize, just in case Joe actually wins. 8)

PS During the '80s we always used to have a bowl games pick em, where you would rank all the games based on your certainty of the outcome, from 15 (most certain) down to 1 (least sure), and it was great.

I'll cast a vote for the confidence rating system.

I will be sending out the template later on today. Working a couple bugs out of the "programing".

I have decided that we will use the win/loss record for this year. I have included a column that includes confidence rankings. Please fill this out as well, I am interested to see if it changes anything in terms of the overall winner.

I'm in but Corbin needs to hurry up and send it out.

I'm sure Georgia Tech's bowl game is tonight at 330am or something.
