I'm in the process of redesigning our website. I figure you might be able to save me some work. I'm looking for inspiration, not to mimic any one design.
So what is your favorite team website? It doesn't have to be lacrosse, but that would be ideal.
I'm browsing around some of the big name NCAA schools, and am not really in awe of any of them.
Thanks kindly!
Oh, and I know www.collegelax.us rocks, but I've already browsed it good.

Almost all of the big name NCAA schools use a template-based website through CSTV. While you'll see many great sites, because of the way content management systems are set up, there are very few sites that are truly different. It is changing though as CMS software is getting more and more robust.
Anyway, here are some non team-related sites for inspiration:

One of my coaches happens to be a graphic artist, so, along with some basic HTML knowledge, we were able to modify a WordPress template to suit our needs. Best of all, it's all free! Here's the end product:

I'd recommend going with Wordpress.org. If you have a basic understanding of html and css, the possibilities are pretty much endless. You can make your site as simple or complex as you'd like, and you have complete control over design/appearance. It's still a relatively new enterprise, so it has its glitches, but the creators are really on it and new versions are released pretty regularly. The new Wordpress based GrizLAX.com will be dropping soon, and I think there might be one or two other LAX sites out there using the WP format...

agree. WP is free, widely used, and pretty well supported. It can handle multiple forms of content which is pretty cool too.

you can always check out
http://www.opensourcecms.com
It basically has any opensource CMS that you want, including Wordpress, Drupal, and Joomla. You can test each of them out on there and go with it if you want.
I agree Wordpress is pretty awesome. Joomla has a lot of plugins available to it, and it also pretty customizable. I don't know much about Drupal but have heard good things.

Well we're in the middle of the project now. I'm really enjoying working with this content management software for the back end.
