2008 BCS & Bowl Game Discussion
It's official: Tim Tebow is the finest example of a human being... ever! When we are dead and gone, our descends will speak of how we lived during the Tebow Era, like we talk about, say, the dinosaurs living through the Jurassic. All Hail, Tebow!

I hate the gators and I hate Tim Tebow when he completely dismantles my team. But I can't say I hate the kid as a person, he's a class act and has now set the standard for QBs in college football. Though I think I saw the outline of jorts beneath his suit pants ....Go Noles!!!

So i got to thinking what it would look like if there were a playoff. According to the BCS, these are the 1st round matchups in a 16 game playoff.
1 Ohio St. vs 16 Tennessee
8 Kansas vs 9 West Virginia
6 Missouri vs 11 Arizona St
4 Oklahoma vs 13 Illinois
3 Va Tech vs 14 Boston College
5 Georgia vs 12 Florida
7 USC vs 10 Hawaii
2 LSU vs 15 Clemson
I know this is just hypothetical, but i thought it was interesting.

Fun with Tim Tebow...

My favorite - Tim Tebow invented black. In fact, he invented the entire spectrum of visible light. Except pink. Tom Cruise invented pink.

I gotta do a bowl challenge. I am totally in on that contest.
I don't like these mock playoffs since not all conferences are represented. It is like having the NBA playoffs with only one Eastern Conference team.

Im still surprised Tebow won it over McFadden. Tebow is definitely incredible...no doubt...but McFadden looked damn good this year. My question is, with Tebow's playing-style...if he sucks for the next 2 years...or gets hurt...does that take anything away from the heisman?

gets hurt no, sucks yes. i don' t think he'll match his #'s from this season again in his career but i also don't think there is a chance of him sucking.

I am referring to what they do in college, not in the pros. Most heisman winners are upperclassman.
I don't think he'll suck. But one defensive player diving at his knees during a tackle would be the end of him, or any player.

Now there's a great idea, Tex! Since all the best teams -- and the eventual champ -- are in the Western Conference anyway, let's see if David Stern will go for it?
Better yet, we could create a lesser "Bowl Game" for two other teams from the Eastern Conference to play in, and just get the BCS -- sorry I meant Commissioner Stern -- to name two Western teams to play for the title -- say San Antonio and Phoenix. The other Western Conference teams could play bowl games of their own. Nobody cares about playoffs, and the post-season is so long and boring anyway. Just pick two teams now and annoint these two as the only ones worthy of a shot at the the NBA title. The other teams will be fine with this, and more than happy to play their own lesser Bowl Games. But let's not forget that the Atlantic division is a "mid-major" and doesn't deserve a bowl game at all. Their intra-division schedule is too weak, so Beta will rightly note that they don't belong at the party at all.

A schedule is like a resume. If you want to try and prove that all resumes are the same because they're on paper and typed on a computer than be my guest.

Joe my good buddy, I have been waiting eagerly for eight long minutes for your comeback. But I must confess my poor liberal pea-brain is just too caffeine-deprived this morning to make heads or tails of what you offered up. Please clarify your sarcastic reply to my sarcastic post and please use small words so I can grasp their hidden meaning.

Well sure, you always insist you are a Southerner, a Georgia Tech football-lover and a devoted disciple of Pat Buchanan, David Dukes and Mr. Whipple. Or have I mis-interpreted your previous musings? Aren't you the true author of Mein Kampf?!?!?!!?
