Stiffi Vs Recon Ti

Postby Madlax16 on Tue Nov 13, 2007 3:19 am

What do you guys think is better? The Gait Recon Ti head or the New warrior stiffi? Any one get one? I'm the market for a new head and am tired of breaking mine.

I don't know if anyone has seen the Recon Ti yet (we haven't received our shipments), but the Stiffi looks pretty good. It is not light, but the titanium will act much the same as rebar in concrete. We think it will be pretty tough to break. The Stiffi also has a great shape, kind of similar to the Helix, but in my opinion, a lot less bulky and more streamlined. I would think that the Stiffi will be one of the most popular heads out there.

Obviously, the Recon Ti is a totally different idea. They use the four bars of titanium rather than one long rod. Since we haven't seen them yet, I can't really make a quality judgment, but we like Gait heads a lot in general.

My not-totally-informed-but-still-kind-of-informed advice would be to go with the Stiffi.
Always on point . . .

my only problem with the stiffi is that the titanium doesn't reinforce the entire head, just the bottom half. In my experience, most of my heads that broke cracked along the scoop or upper portion of the head, and the stiffi doesn't reinforce that area at all.

Personally, I think you might be better off finding an old Brine MD if you want a beastly head. Mine feels practically indestructible

I constantly break my head right in the middle of the sidewalls, never on the scoop. So im not too worried about that. I ordered the stiffi. From what i talked to the ppl at madlax, the stiffi is aparently lighter, and i dont want to be playing with another Gait wizard type head. That thing was a lead weight.

I got a stiff a couple of weeks ago. If your willing to spend 135 for a head, I dont know that you can find one that will be more rigid. I havent gotten to use it for a long time now, so hopefully the head will end up being worth the price. I've had a lot of heads and I've broken a lot of heads. I broke a REVO PRO, and Proton Power, and a few other cheap ones. Ill tell ya what has yet to break on me is a STX Proton +, the old ones, I had to pinch mine a bit so i wasnt so wide, but that has lasted me over a year, and they're not that expensive.

Get a Brine Motive. It's a tank.
