GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A college student from Greenville who fell from a fifth-story dorm window has died, nearly a week after the fall.
Taylor Cothran, an 18-year-old freshman, fell from his Capstone Hall room at the University of South Carolina about 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 5. Cothran landed on the first-floor roof of the dorm's food court.
Cothran was admitted to Richland Memorial Hospital in critical condition but was later upgraded to fair. The hospital confirmed that Cothran died at 10:15 a.m. Thursday
Cothran graduated from J.L. Mann High School in Greenville this past May. He was a member of the high school lacrosse team.
