If you are an ACC or SEC team - It's safe to assume that your season isn't going as expected if you are appearing with regularity on the JP Game of the Week broadcast with the ensuing 12noon or 12:30 kickoff.
I'm convinced that early kickoffs in the South are the work of the devil (or Al Qaeda).

The sad thing is... UT is in 1st place in the East. Blame it on Arkansas for holding us back.
I predict another 12:30 kickoff for the UT-Vandy game and a 3:30 start for the UT-Kentucky game the week following.

Brad are you freaking high? What is holding us back is Philip and his outdated scheme. Hey, Houston Nutt, look out for the wide receiver screen. Oh and we don't tackle. Just don't bother teaching it in Knoxville. As for special teams? What is special teams?
What is holding UT back is the sheep and their "Well he did win a National Championship 10 years ago" thinking. Oh and there have been an awful lot of injuries. Philip has been using that excuse since we got waxed by Clemson in the Peach Bowl. I guess no one else has injuries but we, for some reason, are cursed.
Well, at least LaMarcus Coker will have a good seat for the game this week. He joins a distinguished list of fine former UT players such as Leonard Little and Dwayne Goodrich. Chicken wings for all. Dwayne's buying.
As for our new long-term tv deal with Lincoln Financial (nee Jefferson Pilot), well Notre Dame has a deal so Philip and the rest of the UT AD brain trust wanted their piece of the pie.
Is it too late for Philip to ask for his $1 million donation back. I mean he gets to save his job now because Florida, UGA and USC cannot get their act together. Not because he is a good coach but because others seem to be doing theirs worse.
Philip and the Vols this year reminds me of how Australian Steven Bradford was able to win Australia's first Winter Olympics gold medal in the men's 1,000m short track speed skating final:
So if we make it to the SEC Championship and (oh the horror, the horror) manage to win the SEC, I trademark now that it will be forever known as a "pulling a Philip." Or is that just fighting the urge to push away from the buffet.

Philip and the Vols this year reminds me of how Australian Steven Bradford was able to win Australia's first Winter Olympics gold medal in the men's 1,000m short track speed skating final:
Bradbury's very presence in the final was a result of incredible luck. In his first heat, he finished third, outside the qualifying places, but was elevated to second via the disqualification of Marc Gagnon. In the semifinal, he was in fifth place on the final lap and well behind the pack, only to see three of the other four competitors crash out, allowing him to advance as the second-place finisher in the semifinal.
In the final, Bradbury was far behind in 5th place, but all the other finalists collided and fell while turning the last corner. He crossed the line first to win the first Olympic winter gold medal for Australia, or for any Southern Hemisphere country. Favorite Apolo Anton Ohno, who led before getting hit, suffered a cut in his thigh in the fall but scrambled across the ice to cross the line second. Mathieu Turcotte, who fell at the same time, likewise recovered to take third. This upset has been coined "pulling a Bradbury"
So if we make it to the SEC Championship and (oh the horror, the horror) manage to win the SEC, I trademark now that it will be forever known as a "pulling a Philip." Or is that just fighting the urge to push away from the buffet.

I'm sure the school could give him back his $1M and if not, I think the VASF donors would gladly round up that kind of cash to give back along with a pink slip and say "thanks but no thanks...see ya!"
Oh and I was joking about Arkansas holding us back from being in a better time slot this weekend.
