Some great games so far today.....

Navy brings back the Ghosts of Roger Staubach to win in South Bend.
Kansas puts a basketball score on the Black Shirts.
Oregon taking ASU to the woodshed.
LSU wins the Saban Bowl.
Texas wins on the last play of the game at Ok State.
Ditto for UVa and NC State in the ACC.

Pay back sucks Kansas, but nice job. Will people now agree with my earlier season predictions that had Bill Callahan on the hot seat, or do we need more evidence.

Washington wins the "WhoCaresBowl?" 27-9 over Stanford behind 250 yds rushing by Louis Rankin. After six losses in a row MY LORD it's nice to get a win finally!

Maybe this will take a little heat off poor Ty?

And BC just gives a gift up at home to FSU to allow the Noles to return to .500 in the ACC.

So what should the next poll look like?

My own ranking would have OSU #1, Oregon #2 (uh oh here comes that bile up into my throat), LSU #3 and the Sooners at #4. But I'm sure that LSU will be #2 and get another title game shot if they win out, leaving the Ducks the Rose Bowl as a consolation prize. While I believe Oregon is deserving of a spot in the BCS title game if they win their remaining games, if they get shafted by the BCS folks it will be almost worth it just to get to hear all the whining which will come out of Eugene.

One loss Oregon over one loss LSU? No way.

LSU's loss was to Kentucky in triple OT
Oregon's loss was to Cal after giving up 21 points in the 4th quarter

Both are 3 loss teams. Without getting into the whole "team A beat team B who beat team C..." argument, let's look at their schedules against ranked teams.

LSU (6 ranked opponents)
POUNDED VT 48-7
2 weeks later beat South Carolina by 12
2 weeks later beat Florida
Next week lost to Kentucky in triple OT on the road
Next week beat Auburn
Next week beat Alabama

Oregon (3 ranked opponents)
Lost to Cal by 7
Beat USC by 7
Beat Arizona State by 12

I noticed that you conveniently left out margin of victory for LSU when it did not serve to help your argument.

LSU over Florida by 4 with a late comeback
LSU over Alabama by 7 with a late comeback
LSU over Auburn by 6 with a last second comeback TD

You also failed to mention Oregon's 39-7 POUNDING (to use your terminology) over a much-better-than-people-give-them-credit-for Michigan.

The greatest difference between Oregon and LSU's schedule so far is that in aside from the Cal loss Oregon has left NO DOUBT as to who the better team was that day (USC scored a touchdown with 3 mins in the 4th to get within a TD). In LSU's games that doubt has been there in every game except against a weak Tulane, an overrated VA Tech, and a confused Miss St.

I think that both teams are dead even and the remaining schedules will determine who truly is the better team, I think that based off their current schedules you cannot say one is undoubtedly better than the other.

I think there is a great chance that it will be these two teams meeting in the title game after Michigan blows out OSU.
