Helmets for Big-Headed Folk

Postby Shaw on Tue Oct 23, 2007 5:04 pm

Hey, I'm looking to get a new helmet, I've been wearing a C-Pro since I started playing and I've always liked them because they work really nice for guys with big noggins like me.

I tried the CPX's and even without the liners and stuff they didn't fit on my head. What other helmets are big enough for guys like me? I heard the Brine one's are small fitting, any ideas?

Have you considered hollowing out a watermellon?

We just picked up a CPX "Stretch limo" for one of my d-poles. It is a custom fit CPX built for larger head sizes. He wore it for two tournaments and seems to really like it. We had to splice two sets of vent stripes together to accommodate but it looks great!

they sized me out of the market when they did away with the original cascades. I now sport the stryke. It is pretty nice. I have not tried the Gait helmets, but the old ones that looked like a hockey helmet worked ok. is the stretchlimo one the kind that looks like they just cut up 2 helmets and glued them together?

one of our guys had a factory custom limo for his enormous noggin. They cut two helmets a little bit more than in half, and then rivet them together. super goofy.

yes, they fuse two helmets together. He seems to like it, mostly since he matches everyone else on the team. It's funny that they charge $20 extra.

well, they do ruin two helmets to make one, unless the leftovers are saved for a midget.

So I tried on a Triumph today, the XL I might add, and it was too small...looks like I'm sticking with Cascade.

Triumph XL does not fit big headed people... the TRUE XL does. It should be out in a couple of weeks. I should have specified which one in my earlier post, my bad.

PM is you have any questions

As a side note.... which MCLA has a well known quote of "My Bad is not an excuse to suck!"

Oh ha, that's a relief, I thought my head was abnormally huge then.

Is the True XL and Brine helmet as well?

That is Colorado State. The story I heard wasFlip was sick of kids missing passes and saying "My bad" at one particular practice. He loudly announced that it is indeed not OK to suck

Don't really know what your asking but the True XL is the new size that the Triumph is coming in. It should be out in a couple of weeks. The original Triumph was only designed to fit 70% of the population. Look at Duke last year, all their big headed people were wearing cascades.
