Great weekend in Missoula. Everything came together nicely and the weather was perfect for lacrosse. Idaho had a good weekend with seven freshman scoring their first goals. Always a great thing to play against great competition.

Thanks Black Bears and Polar Bears for hosting this weekend. It was a good interspecies showdown!

Thanks so much for everybody who made the trip out to Missoula this weekend. I think it's safe to say that this was the largest lacrosse gathering in our state's history (at least until conference playoffs this spring). I was particularly pleased to see over 40 high school students playing a pick up game on Field 2 Sunday afternoon that lasted almost 3 hours. Students from Missoula's first high school program at Hellgate mixed in with a bunch of kids that I worked with this summer at Salish-Kootenai College's Upward Bound and everybody that I talked to said they had a blast. Hellgate parents were happy to see their kids out in a "real game" as they have only been practicing so far and the students from the Flathead Reservation were really glad they got to show off their stuff. UM Vice-President Jim Foley was out on Sunday and was very impressed with all the teams and certainly wants to make this an annual event. So thanks again to everybody who chipped in to help pull this thing off... hopefully we'll see you again next year.
