Are we so chock full of refs that there is some rite of passage to be allowed into the ranks of college refs? I thought if you wanted to ref you were in? Especially out east. Just curious...

No right of passage, just time. Unfortunately I think it takes a few years to work your way up (or maybe fortunately because the result is a better product).

Thanks Will, great job as always! I wonder if they painted the Kibbie Dome in pixels and it actually appears solid gold from satellite images? We'll try and have blimp coverage during the regular season.

Thanks to Ryan and Idaho for having us out and thanks to Montana for stickin around and playin us. It was good to get a game in early, we now know what we have to work on more than others. I thought we had some good opportunities but a little too much rust on the stick to finish it. Thanks again to both schools. Idaho see you sunday and montana see you the 13th.

Did anyone from WSU or Montana accidentally pick up my stick? It's a Brine Edge on an old Blue Shaft. I played my last game at Montana with that stick and will be pretty bummed if I never see it again. It most likely got lost in the confusion on the WSU side when Idaho cleared off.

Idaho 8-4 over WSU

The Vandals were able to get 6 goals from the freshman class in a border battle between the Cougs and the Vandals in Martin Stadium. It was cold with a slight drizzle this morning as we made our way into Washington. A quick pit stop to see the grizzly bears on the east end of campus got everyone warm and ready to head into the cougar den. Our freshman goalies split time in the cage today and came up big when they had to and the offense got going in the second half. Thanks cougs for hosting this morning.

The Vandals will be off next week before heading to Missoula on October 13.

Thanks for coming out Idaho. The game was two 30 min running. We scored one in the opening half and they scored three unanswered. We got a breather and were ready for the second half as we tied it up 3-3 before we became exhausted and Idaho quickly scored 5 unanswered toward the end and than we finished it up with one final goal. We were just too tired out there (guess we should start doing some conditioning). See you again in Montana.

WSU hosted GU this weekend for their Dad's weekend. It was a very close game. Tied 6-6 until about half way through the 4th quarter when WSU received a two minute unreleasable (they scored 3). We lost 6-10. We have improved a lot and are excited for this season.
