Yeah, Sonny, thanks for reminding me. Can we blame you for Chooch's transfer? Being selected Talon Player of the Week has got to be a bigger curse than being on the cover of S.I.!! Just watch to see if we EVER nominate another of our underclassmen for this damn award!

A request for the coaches

Postby Zamboni_Driver on Tue Oct 09, 2007 1:56 pm

Now that many teams are in full fall ball swing, I was wondering if any coaches would provide a "Coach's Outlook".

Simply a look at returning players, expectations from rookies, key improvements, schedule and key games, etc.

You can either post it, or PM me and I'll add it to each team's section above.

Any takers?

Lose 4 seniors overall (2O/2D). Return top 4 scorers (M-Davis[65]<1st>, Hier[65] <1st>, Ferrin[59] <2nd>), and Monteath[32] <1st>, with 3 more marking atleast 20 pts, and 1 more marking atleast 10 pts. Lose Z-Davis <2nd>. Lose Harris<2nd> on defense, but return Smith<2nd> , Foulger, Cone, and 10 additional defensemen. In goal, return Kikumoto who finished his junior year with a 59% save percentage.

Noteables: BYU website roster lacks Ferrin[59] <2nd> (reportedly on mission trip), M-Davis[65]<1st> and Foulger (D). Gain 1 HS AA - Manning(M)[Waterford School, UT]. Return to team after mission include Scott Lolar, Matt Wheatley and Taylor Redd.

As mentioned before, Ted Ferrin is now on his mission. Not on this list but as important, is Tyler Monteath, who will also be going on a mission at the end of the semester. The Cougs will definitely miss him, but will be glad to have him back in 2009. So with Marc Davis out as well, the Cougs lose 3 of their top 4 scorers.

This will be another young team for Coach Lamb, and it should be an exciting season if they can play at the same level they did last year.

Is the little middie from CU returning to the team this year? And what happened to make all of their non-seniors leave?
