2007 College Football Week No. 5 (week of 09/29/07)

Non-lacrosse specific topics.

Looks like a pretty good week for college football. I would have expected a closer game between Boise State and Southern Miss.

Games I will be watching:
WV/USF- Bulls lose badly, but you have to love what the team is doing. They are still on their first coach.
ISU/Neb- Gene Chizik gets his boys to beat Nebraska
Mayland/Rutgers- I think Maryland might pull this one out.
MSU/Wisconsin- MSU wins and starts the process of Big Ten race for the Roses.
USAFA/Navy- Any Armed Forces game is a big one.
Cal/Oregon- You might think it is Independence Day with the fireworks coming from Autzen.
Texas/KSU- Remember last year.
GT/Clemson- I like Georgia Tech in this game.
CSU/TCU- I gotta watch my Frogs. Tommy Blake is out for the game, and maybe the season.
USC/Washington- will be closer than you think.
Northwestern St./Texas Tech- Does Leach go over the century mark? I wouldn't put it past that leach.

My guesses...

USF won @ WVU last year, and is better this year. I have already put my money on WVU though

Maryland blew a 24-3 lead and lost in OT at wake last week. Jordan Steffy sucks.

USC will kill washington.

I know this sounds funny coming from me (15-13 ISU), but ISU is just horrible. While Nebraska looked bad last week and ISU seems to come to play against Iowa/Nebraska (their Super Bowls), I see Nebraska winning somewhat big.

ISU is just horrible.

Apparently South Florida didn't know they were supposed to lose badly...

Yup, Steffy sucks and unfortunately that's all they have. With Portis losing his season for cheating on a quiz that didn't help either.

Maybe the ACC isn't as bad as everyone thinks. Maryland wins at undefeated Rutgers today and FSU beats Alabama.

I was way off on the USF/WV game. I have liked USF in the past, but I thought WV would put the hurt on after last year.

So, has anyone else heard anything about Michigan possibly having to forfeit last week's PSU game due to using an ineligible player? They mentioned it on ESPN last night but it wasn't in the paper today.

NCAA will probably put Illinois on probation for it.

To make matters worse it was a pop quiz. You'll have to PM me a link if you know of one off the top of your head. Man, I hate to see someone get hurt, but for my terps it was good to see Steffy go. The 3rd stringer is much better and looked great. Fridge is too darn loyal to seniors.....

Is this in the rumor mill or is the media reporting on it?
