Karl is saying to not hold your breath, nobody has made any announcements or even expressed much credible commitment at this point to actually organize and hold the event, at least as of yet.

Haha ... Let's just say it may or may not be any agenda item at our next meeting.

It'd really be great to bring the Tournament back and get some consistency with it; we just need somebody to step up and get it together.

The LSA, RMLC, CCLA and GRLC could all benefit extremely well from it.

They might wanna get the word out sooner (not an OU pun) than later. Schedules, I'm sure, are filling up quickly.

In my opinion, to host a Big 12 tournament, and to do it right, takes a lot of planning and coordination starting at least a year out. When dealing with three MCLA leagues, scheduling, etc. finding an optimal date is difficult. Plus, you factor in location, site, hotels, officials, staff to help run and operate the tourney, you are talking a major commitment.

Gone are the days of competitive MCLA teams travelling to a neutral site to play a tournament style format IMO. We have entered into the era where a coach wants to know excatly who they will be playing, what time, what date, etc to maximize their schedule and travel budget.
