MCLA-A 2008 Outlook: Group 2

Postby Zamboni_Driver on Wed Aug 15, 2007 11:17 am

DISCLAIMER:
- Information reguarding eligibility and points was taken from the www.mcla.us website, the MCLA All-American Awards, and individual conference awards (excluding honorable mention).
- Without question there will be mistakes in this document. I encourage people to post corrections, or PM them to me.
- Grouping were based on the final 2007 MCLA poll, purely for organizational purposes only
- As new information becomes available or is posted, I will update the original post. I intend for this to be a working document.

NOTES:
- Format = Team Name (Overall Record, Conference Record, T25 Goals For Average, Goals Against Average)
- Format = Name[Points]<MCLA AA Award>. So “Smith[50] <3rd>” meant Smith marked 50 pts and was named to the MCLA All-American third team.
- Defensemen and FOS are indicated only if they were provided MCLA or individual conference awards
- “?” next to a players name indicates they have remaining eligibility, but their return to the program in 2008 is under question (i.e. graduated).
- Coaches are encouraged to post an 8-10 sentence 2008 outlook summary, that highlights their expectations for returning players and rookies.

One notable omission here is Chapman, who should probably be in this group. I think they come off of disciplinary suspension in 2008. From what I understand they have quite a few incoming HS AAs, assuming that they are still committed to Chapman after the coaching change.

Good one. Sonoma in the "Group2" Bracket. Maybe Maimi should play for the DIV 1-A football championship.

Not too sure what the point is in this post. But just in case, if you are concerned about Sonoma being in the Group 2 - please read the disclaimer at the top of the post - the part where I stated that I used last years last poll ranking to form the groups soly for organizational purposes.

Grizzly Adams did have a beard. Doesn't Miami (FL & OH) play for the Div 1-A championship? Or am I taking crazy pills and completely missing something here?

A request for the coaches

Postby Zamboni_Driver on Tue Oct 09, 2007 1:57 pm

Now that many teams are in full fall ball swing, I was wondering if any coaches would provide a "Coach's Outlook".

Simply a look at returning players, expectations from rookies, key improvements, schedule and key games, etc.

You can either post it, or PM me and I'll add it to each team's section above.

Any takers?

UPDATE: Each Team's Regular Season Goals For Average (GFA) and Goals Against Average (GAA) against TOP 25 competition has been posted after team record.

Remember TOP 25 is frozen after the game is played in this outlook. If there are any mistakes please PM me.

Virginia Tech added a University of Delaware transfer at Defense who looked VERY solid at the Clemson Tourney this fall.
