No Os. Sorry.

Zeuslax wrote:Well It seems to me that we should be tightening things up, enforcing our current rules and working to improve what we have currently before thinking that changes are needed. We definitely need improved by-laws and clarity in some areas - end of year financials, eligibility sanctions written and posted, and meeting reports are just a few things that pop out.

I agree 100%.

There is a C but sorry not L.

In light of current events, or the speculation on these boards, this should be obvious by now.

Yeah, there's a T. My mind is a little numb what with all the Elmo and Bob the Builder I have been watching all day long.

STAR CHAMBER is the answer and no, I am not referencing the Peter Hyams classic. Think about it...

Definition of Star Chamber brought to you by http://www.answers.com/topic/star-chamber?cat=biz-fin:

British prerogative court that exercised wide civil and criminal jurisdiction and was marked by secrecy, the absence of juries, and an inquisitorial rather than accusatorial system of justice. It met in a room in the palace of Westminster whose ceiling was decorated with stars. It was employed extensively under Henry VIII because of its ability to enforce the law when other courts were unable to do so because of corruption and influence. When Charles I used it to enforce unpopular political and ecclesiastical policies, it became a symbol of oppression to his and Archbishop William Laud's parliamentary and Puritan opponents (though it never imposed the death penalty), and it was abolished by the Long Parliament in 1641.

Substitute MCLA for British, Denver for Westminster, Henry VIII for... ah, you get the picture.

Kind of makes the whole "if you have any proposed changes to the MCLA, you have every right to attend the national meetings and state your case" argument from the league heirarchy ring a little empty, no?

Has anyone read the bylaws? There's a few interesting sections.......One I liked in particular. The MCLA board can make any changes it sees fit, at any time, at its own discretion.

The meeting is open to members of the MCLA,we are at the Embassy Suites Aurora-Denver. Meeting starts again at 9am Saturday. There will be minutes, the budgets and expenditures have been distributed to the Conference Directors so they can share the information with their conferences. Nothing like what has been described here on this thread has been presented yet. Saturday is looking to be an interesting day.

One question, Knox...what is it that "they" are up to in the Star Chamber in Denver?
