Does anyone know what topics are going to be the focus of the MCLA leadership for the upcoming season? Are any of these on the agenda? It would be great to get some comments from those that are in the know.
Tourney - re-up in Pizza Hut or go to new location?
Div. B - how to handle failures for the last 2 years in Div. B tourney participation?
Growth - Is the MCLA looking at expansion or contraction?
Administration - at one time, there was going to be a place (perhaps this website) where the By-laws and eligibility rules documents & procedures were going to be accessible. Will there be a central place for this kind of stuff?
MCLA Changes For Upcoming Year

I don't think this site would be the appropriate place for info such as this. It seems like our league's web site would be the right place.
It would be great if we could get to the point where we could show end of year finances and things of this sort as well. I would also love to see some minutes of the meetings posted as well or maybe a general write up with a recap.

Catlaxman,
Are you putting out feelers on the rumors that the MCLA might be considering a MAJOR restructuring?
It worries me to think that the "leadership" would even consider forsaking 3/4 of the membership, especially after our recent break with USL.
If John Paul, Ken Lovic, Tony Scazzero, Chris Larsen, or Doug Carl would like to shed some light, I am sure that there are at least 150 teams that would be very interested.

I've heard a little something about this. Sounds pretty disturbing. Club lacrosse at this many schools gives kids the chance to play competitive lacrosse, isn't that what the MCLA is supposed to be about. Why would they consider cutting so many teams.

Cut 150 teams? Do that and you cut $150,000 from your income. Not a good idea, unless you have a replacement revenue stream or are planning to scale down the championships.

The MCLA meeting is today, there is no published agenda at this time, ask the question again on Sunday.

Any one want to play Wheel of Fortune:
_ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Clue: Group of People
Just my thoughts:
If the B Division survives, they go to an 8-team tournament at nationals.
For the A, at the very least, consolation games will be eliminated at nationals.

Can I have a "L" please?
I think that B will survive but I do agree that the national field will be lowered, which I do support. However Ethan, there are nine conferences so do you take the top 8 teams with no AQ or do you take the nine winners with 1 AQ to make it even or give the top seed a bye into the second round? I have no good answer.
I would welcome no consellation games.

No L.
The letters that remain:
A E I O U
B C D F G H J K M N P Q R S T V W X Y Z
It should be 10 teams with a play-in game between #9 & #10, the #10 being an at-large.
What about this talk of taking the top 60 (or so teams) and leaving in the rest of the MCLA on the outside looking in? Will there finally become a structure of three division akin to the NCAA, with top tier made up of the Top 60 teams, the rest filling out the second tier and the B Division composing the new third tier.
Any thoughts?

That still leaves you with 9 teams which doesn't fit well into any bracket that is a power of 2. Try 9 plays 8 (Winner plays 1), 7 plays 10 (winner plays 2).
Can I have a "T", Pat <clap, clap, clap..>
