University of Illinois. Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach/Fitness Center Staff. The University of Illinois Men’s Lacrosse Team/Club invites applications for Assistant Men's Lacrosse Coach/Fitness Center Staff. Full-time appointment begins August 2007. Responsibilities: Evaluate and identify prospective student-athletes. Coordinate the recruiting calendar, develop the recruit mailing sequence, and monitor weekly phone calls. Assist with the planning and implementation of tactical strategies into daily practice sessions. Work with individual student-athletes to refine and develop skills. Responsible for coordinating all aspects of team travel, including hotel arrangements and bus transportation. Work closely with the head coach to determine team travel schedule. Perform various office duties including maintaining files, answering correspondence, and fielding phone calls along with additional duties to be assigned by the head coach. Assist with various aspects of coordinating summer camp. Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of four years collegiate level playing experience and 1-2 years of coaching experience is necessary. Must possess extensive knowledge of the sport as well as its skills and strategies. Strong organization and communication skills are necessary to effectively complete job tasks. This position involves extensive travel. The University of Illinois Men’s Lacrosse team is a nationally ranked member of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association.
