Preseason Poll Predictions for A and B

Preseason Poll Predictions for A and B

Postby murphlaxtx on Thu Aug 02, 2007 11:01 pm

I thought it would be interesting to see everyones predictions as to what the preseason polls will look like in each division (current teams of course- also assume that TCU is already an "A" team) and who you think should be where. I know there is still a lot of time before those polls actually come out, but this will help to kill time until then.

A Divison
1. UT
2. A&M
3.SMU
4.UNT
5.Baylor
6. Texas State
7. Tech
8.Rice
9. OU
10. LSU
11.OSU
12.TCU

But I think that 4th spot can be is gonna be a challenge considering theres a lot of good programs that have been rebuilding there teams so look for that spot to be a tough one btw UNT, Baylor, TX State

B Divison (including SFA figuring we get voted back in)

1. SU
2. St Eds
3. Trinity
4. SFA
5. UTSA
6. AC
7. UTA
8. Ole Miss

I put Ole Miss cuz I guess Ole Miss is trying to be in the LSA, cuz I saw there contact info on the master list. SU is always gonna be good, St Eds is always improving just like Trinity, and I think SFA is gonna have a good year back in the LSA with a strong and talented freshman class mostly from the DFW area, and some vets that have been practicing a lot and playing summer league. So we will just see how it goes down this year!! Im excited and its good to see UTSA back they had a good year last year so Im sure they will be strong again.

I wouldn't rule out Ole Miss, they have some stellar recruits coming in and look to be pretty solid with some decent numbers.

And a terrible football team

LSA

Postby Karl Lynch on Fri Aug 03, 2007 11:36 am

I find it odd that we are ranking the LSA for the spring when half the teams are not even in the league.

I think we are better served making sure we have enough players, coaches, money, eligibility monitoring, etc. than worry about whether currently non-LSA teams will be highly ranked in the LSA.

Without referencing my notes, SMU, OSU, RICE, St. Ed's, UTA, SFASU and Trinity all must reapply for next year's season because of their performances last year.

Also, UTSA is not coming back next year for playing a high school kid in a game.

Sam Houston and Ole Miss have to apply for admittance with no guarantees of acceptance.

In the B Division, I rank SU and AC tied for first because they are the only two eligible teams.

Karl,

It seems like your ready to do away with division B. I dont know if you are just a stickler for the rules but damn man, I can feel the frustration in your words. Lighten up and have hope, geeeeeeeez.

Div. B

Postby Karl Lynch on Fri Aug 03, 2007 1:07 pm

You're right. I should forget the rules.

I'm off to go drive around town and not stop at red lights.

If we collectively get our programs running correctly, we get our Div. B AQ back.

What should we be focusing on - pre-season rankings or the AQ?

I understand your frustration and the team at SFA hasnt helped the situation, the past 2 years but I really think we are going to turn around for the better of the LSA B, and thats too bad about UTSA, they should know the rules, are they out for good or a year suspension from the league? Anys ways Karl Im working hard, so have some hope!!! :D

UTSA is not out for good. Just enough time to get things straight.

Now that the meeting is complete and everyone has been re-instated, looks like we can start up the predictions again.......
