Speaking of couches, what USL MDIA college team/ and or fans started that trend? Was it Sonoma State? 8)

Santa Clara had couches adorning the sidelines in my first season coaching- 1983

I remember back in '89 playing Southwestern in Georgetown, the old house across from the field used to be a Kappa Alpha fraternity house. They used to drag two or three couches from the house over to the field to watch the games. They usually had a big crowd too.

The Pit at UCSB is also known for their couch denizens.

That actually used considered as important as the scorers table for us, we had to bring them to the games with the goals.
