All American History

Postby Huskies16 on Thu Jun 07, 2007 12:43 pm

If you go to this link:

http://www.laxpower.com/common/aa_col.php

You will find a listing of College All-Americans from 2000 to 2007 including the USLIA and the MCLA. The only year that is missing is 2004 for our conference. (If could find that and email it to Northeasternmenslacrosse@gmail.com - that would be great).

Something like this would be cool on this site. I don't know how difficult it would be to add a history page to this site, however, I think it would be really great for legitmizing it. Many of the conference sites have a history, it could mean summarizing all of these. I am not sure if anyone has tried to write a history of the league. However, it might be fun to try and do it. Ugghh... is this what means fun now that I am done playing. That sucks.

Thanks,

Chris Cook

I think I can come up with it, but will take a little doing (I believe I have a camcorder version of what was projected on the screen at the pavillion in St. Louis that I could transcribe). It sounds like you are an official LaxPower channel to get it into their hands? If this is the best thing available, let me know and I'll see if I can locate it and send you the info by email.

I intend to post a composite list of MDIA/MCLA award winners to the site later this summer/fall.

This is how I always interpreted it...

It might be team All-America - but the individual is an All-American.

Oh geez... I should've searched before posting... I knew there was a history on that issue.

Disregard.

(Can't seem to get the formatting straightened out here, neither tabs nor multiple spaces seem to work.)

I truly hope I haven't introduced too many typos, if I have, I apologize profusely; NTSC video isn't the highest resolution, especially for some of the slides with lots of names (small print), I just tried to type them as I see them. Perhaps if some of you know better what these should be, we can correct 'em (work in progress; as I get them, I'll fix this list--and Huskies16 can pick it up from here, rather than e having to email it each time?).

Thank you, Catlax. As you might imagine, I did recognize some typos in the slides as presented (e.g. ones like Damon, that one was easy to spot, as well as the one other obvious (to me) one that I noted before), but I figured I'd first type up the list exactly as I read it from the video of the presentation. I'm now editing the list above with corrections, so hopefully as we refine it, we'll approach perfection of some sort. Keep the corrections coming...

Done; that doesn't look like a typo, though (or me misreading tiny letters on video), wonder how they missed that?

Got it, thanks -- it's easy to see how I could have misread that one, especially with the VERY small print, all the academic AAs were on a single slide.
