Surprising Scores

Postby Walter on Sun Mar 13, 2005 1:36 am

I am very surprised by some scores I saw today:
UA beats SDSU (not UCSD) by only 2 (9-7) when UCSB beat them 17 - 0.
Poly over SFU 14 - 3. Where have you gone SFU?

I know this sounds crazy, but there are other conferences than the WCLL.

St. John's (Division B #3) defeated the UMLL finalist in 2004 (semi-finalist in 2003) by an 8-6 score yesterday.

That is pretty surprising.

The game between Arizona and UCSD ended up as a very close match up. Ending 12-11 with a UA victory in double OT.

This was one of the best games I have ever seen. Bar none. I don't think there was ever a lead of more than 2 in the whole game- and that went both ways. It was UCSD 5-3 at halftime. Then Zona came back to make it 6-5 in the third. Trading goals through the fourth, the regulation ended at 11's (duh) and the game was not decided until WELL into the second overtime period. It was an amazing show of lacrosse on the field.

I know it's been said by other people already, but there is so much going on right now in terms of who's beating who and by how much, but you could not pay me enough to want to be a pollster right now. I've only looked closely today so far at the scores from out west, and just with the complications I see there, the next poll has some huge question marks on it. I'm ready for poll #3 by tomorrow, just to sate my curiosity.

I was a little shocked by St. John's beating Steven's Point. Here in Wisconsin, Point is the team. They are a solid team that had was runner -up in the A-Div for the UMLL, only losing to Duluth. We watched pt. this fall and they beat some solid old-men league teams. See you guys (st. John's) in Iowa.
