Indeed, it is an outrage. However, I don't follow your statement. It doesn't really make sense.

Yeah it's not worded correctly. I was trying to type while my boss was talking to me and I wasn't looking at the screen.

I meant to say something along the lines of that I wish criminals were afraid to commit crimes, due to punishment and/or persecution. Obviously people shouldn't commit crimes anyways...but I wish more people would fear our "justice" system.

Speak for yourself. The thought of spending a life in a maximum security prison with the meanest people on earth is a powerful deterrent for me not to commit crimes. Not to mention that I could be put to death in numerous states.
