Which Michigan ripped off Princeton. Well, rather the coach left Princeton for Michigan... but still.

i am a native delawarean, so i will have to defend my blue hens.

The helmet design did not come from the Michigan Wolverines, but can be traced back to the Princeton squad of the 1930s. Princeton coach Fritz Crisler used a helmet with a wing pattern on it in the school’s colors of black and orange. When Crisler moved to Michigan in 1938 he brought the design with him but changed the colors to match the school’s maize and blue scheme. On that 1938 team was a player by the name of Dave Nelson. After a few years of coaching at other schools and using this exact helmet design (Hillsdale College of Michigan, blue and white; Harvard, black and crimson; Maine, blue and white), Nelson came Delaware in 1951 as the head coach and incorporated the Blue Hens’ blue and gold colors into the popular pattern.

i don't see what's so ugly about my ute's unis. i'm not a huge fan of the bib back thingy, but it doesn't make it one of the top ten ugliest.

As for the crackabout America's Team's jerseys, whatever. Have you seen their lacrosse team's jerseys? They are Clemson orange.

Oregon has by far and away the SWEETEST uniforms out there. People either love them or hate them. I for one love them because they are unique.

They are unique because nobody else is stupid enough to try anything like them.

i will defend delaware to the death. maybe it's little-state syndrome. you're damn right, tax-free shopping. i am still confused how much money i need when buying things out here. i guess 18 years of residency in the first state takes its toll.

yeah, oregon's uniforms are NOT pleasing to the eye. they could do sweet things with the color scheme they have. i suppose they just decide not to.

The Delaware unis are sickening not because of the helmets but because the crappy 1970's-looking blue jerseys don't match the blue of the helmet. SICK

and i dont understand how utah's uniforms look bad in any way. they're like the denver broncos with different colors.

Who in their brightest moment decided that diamond plated metal belongs on a football jersey? I have no problems with colors but a random pattern... too much photoshop for whoever put that together.

We all know there is a current website devoted to the history of the design of college football helmets. However, it would require millions of man hours to devote to a website showing each college's historical football jerseys. That would boggle the eyes.

These days, there is so much emphasis on the color and appearance of football team jerseys, helmets, et al. I may be a throwback guy as the design of the football unis back in the 1970s were quite simple eventhough the unis were not that pretty or attention-getters. Guess the focus back then was just to play football and to quote Al Davis, "Just win, baby."
