Back Row, Left to right
Kyle Berggren - One of the first guys I called to have on staff, I can ALWAYS count on Kyle. Soon to be opening a lax specialty store in the Seattle, WA area with Dr. Jason Stockton. You should all shop there.
Brian Mosher - my on field-general. Takes no crap from anyone! You should have seen him slap down the stat girls who wanted to sit in the scoring box. Just remorseless. He is feared throughout the league.
Billy Wessels - The Prince of Prose. No joke, this guy can write the hell out of a story. Nuff said.
CJ Reshmi - A close, personal friend, CJ loves plus-sized strippers, girls with a google eye (who doesn't?) and likes to be called "The Jolly Bengali". He is new to the MCLA family, and was blown away by what we do here.
Greg "Bubba" Gutherless - Stat guy extrordinaire! Bubba is one of our MVP's because he is always willing to drive a group of drunk men home from the bars, no matter how late. And who else wants to do stats for four straight games? Thanks Bubba!
Dave Adams - This man needs no introduction in the MCLA. He works tirelessly to provide you with photos. Seriously. He works without sleeping and rarely eats. His name is spoken in revered whispers and he deserves every accolade that has been heaped upon him.
Ethan Ritz - Sonny's stat guru. A sharp wit and a insightful comments about the state of the MCLA are Ethan's trademarks. Don't even get him started on All-American vs. All-America. You will lose any arguement you have with Ethan, no matter what your stance is. He is that smart.
Matt Benson - Danny Hogan said it best, Matt is the funniest person on these boards. He is one of the reasons you have live updated stats while sitting in your comfy living room. Everything else I have to say about Matt is X-rated, so use your imagination.
Ben Clark - The second guy I called for staffing, and the other half of the Dream Team with Kyle Berggren. I give Ben a hard time, but I wouldn't want anyone else on staff at the big show. But he will feel my vengeance. Oh yes. He will.
Cricket Griffin - One of three Texas folks who make this tournament happen. She has a house in the Grand Canyon, and was voted hottest mom in the world by the guys (and some of the girls) on staff. Hell, she even beat out the lovely Kelli, and that girl had some serious talent.
Chris Larson - My right hand man, Chris was indespensible those last few days of the tournament. He loves to constantly punish me because when he was director and I was staff, I had a habit of sleeping through early assignments. And they put me in charge.
Liz Alley - I would marry this woman if she wasn't engaged. Not only is she like seven feet tall and gorgeous, but one of her favorite words is "douchebag" and she laughed a all the terrible mean things I said. Liz, call me if things don't work out!
Middle Row, Left to Right -
Cecil Copeland - You have all probably seen that photo of water cascading down around Jason Lamb. That was Cecil's. One of the most electric photos I have seen in a long time. Cecil and Dave probably the two best lacrosse photographers in the US, and they both live in Georgia. What a shame.
Will "Oaks" Oakley - Has been on staff for a few years now, Oaks can post, handle stats, and fill me in on what the hell is going on around me all at the same time. Hilarious guy. Oh yeah, and Oaks really likes shots. Yikes.
Larry Monaco - You should all bow before this man and praise him like the god he is. The point guy for Texas, Larry juggled 30 things everyday and is the reason we secured PHP. We would not have had the greatest tournament we have ever had without Larry. Eveyone owes him thanks and their first born.
Mark Frey - Looking for an impromptu faceoff competition, or a guy who orders double shots of bourbon and drinks them like chocolate milk, look no further. He is also the perpetuator of an atrocity that cannot be spoken of, and I will make sure he gets his just desserts. Someday.
John Schuett - The silky voice of the MCLA, John has been our announcer for a number of years now. A flawless artist in front of the mike, everyone wants John to narrate their life. My voice mail should have John Schuett. Movie trailers should have John Schuett. If I could, he would follow me around with a microphone and speakers just saying what I was doing.
Will Moss - Montana's answer to Dave Adams. He worked just as hard as Dave and Cecil, and his photos are right there in quality, he is just a little more "earthy". The excitement on his face when Montana won - Priceless.
Todd Matherly - Actually scheduled the tournament around golf. He is that dedicated. T. O. Double D! The "Tom Hagen" of the crew. Todd must also have unlimited phone minutes, because it was connected to his ear.
Rene Kozarsky - True story: Rene and I played against each other in high school. I blew out his knee in a game during a hit. I have lived in fear of him killing me in my sleep since he figured this out 5 years back. Amazing writer, I learned a lot from Rene, but I am still scared of him.
Colleen O'Connell - This girl can hang with two dozen men without battling an eyelash. She drinks, belches, punches, curses and still looks cute. And once the DJ busts her request out, she totally gets her freak on. Another great writer, and a really cool chick.
Chris Sakaguchi - Sonny's radio engineer. Quiet guy, I would have more to say about him if Sonny didn't keep him locked in a room all day fixing radio crap.
Brauck Cullen - Seriously, with one leg in a cast, hobbled and crippled, this guys still gets more phone numbers than any ten of you combined. His mojo is that strong. When the girls at BoneDaddy's, who get hit on all night, are throwing themselves at you, you are doing something right.
Front row, Left to Right
Dave Leach - Singlehandedly bringing sexy back to the tournament staff. I wish I had photos of the Dave that one night he was in rare form. Always looking to include everyone in what he writes, for all you third string middies who picked up a ground ball, Dave has a sentence in his story about your amazing efforts. Just know if anyone else was covering the game, no one would have cared.
Nate Cordova - When we finally get together a staff team, we now have a goalie. The former Oregon keeper, Nate was heartbroken when they fell to BYU. Luckily, the nice ladies of Texas were there to make him feel all better. Yet another impressive writer, Nate was also the point guy for the All-Tournment teams. So for everyone who complained, there wouldn't even have been a team without Nate.
Nick Schooler - You want to know dedication? This guy boarded a plane with a bag filled with sod from The Pit in Santa Barbara to have on the sideline for all the UCSB games. That kind of loyalty is unmatched. The son of the legendary Blue Velvet, Nick leads the life I wish I had. Marine Biologist in Southern California? Damn it!
Francisco "Pancheto" Ojeda - This guys has like four names, so you can pretty much call him whatever and he will respond. A rabid believer in the Division B, he almost fist-fought four guys over the fate of the league. He would have lost since they outweighed him by 400 pounds, but what heart!
Ken Lovic - The elder statesman of the MCLA, he controls the pursestrings and keeps me focused. He is also the other half of Sonny's radio podcasts. Ken possesses a wealth of lacrosse knowledge and has the uncanny knack of fooling me into believing the patently ridiculous.
Sonny Pieper - The Wizard of Oz. The Man Behind the Curtain. A great friend of myself and the MCLA. You all know him, and I am sick of talking about him. Let's move on.
Dan Morris - That's me. Nothing good to say about that guy.
Danny Hogan - Sonny and I have discussed this. Everyone loves Danny Hogan. Everyone wants to hang with him, and he's why: Danny makes anyone feel ten years younger. He becomes more energized as the night progresses, and he can drink an inhuman amount of beers. Danny is one of the reasons I love working the tournament, because he is a friend I don't get to see too often, but Christ on a bike, I may feel young when out with Hogan, but he easily shaves 5 years off my life for every week I spend with him.
Thi Le - The Florida women's lacrosse coach, Thi has the keys to a kingdom I couldn't even dream of. Thi was a rock for me this week, swooping in late to grab the last available spot and working his butt off. No one keeps time like Thi, and he totally covered for me when I screwed up like three different countdowns. Unlike Schooler who tossed me under the bus.
So there is your staff. Great people, every one, and all welcome back next year. Thank you for all the help guys. It was one for the ages.
Kyle Berggren - One of the first guys I called to have on staff, I can ALWAYS count on Kyle. Soon to be opening a lax specialty store in the Seattle, WA area with Dr. Jason Stockton. You should all shop there.

Dan,
I've just wet my pants.
outside of the old story by ManidbleS4L pimping 8-tracks in his IROC on Long Island story.... That has to be the funniest thing I've ever read on this message board.
Seriously.

THE Staff
Well done, ladies and gentlemen. Thanks for everything you do so we can try to put the best product that we can on the field.
Here's to another go at it in Dallas next spring. Thanks to Larry and Cricket for the hospitality and hard work (I know what it's like from the local perspective).
Special thanks to Bubba to carting me around Vancouver Island in January, being there after a loss in Dallas, and for being the only timekeeper/statkeeper that doesn't look "nervous" when I come walking to the table!
(Note: a stock overview of US Smokeless Tobacco (ticker: UST) shows a significant spike in value between mid-March and mid-May of 2007. A unique coincidence considering Bubba is either patrolling the sidelines at PLU or performing with "Terminator-like" consistency at the MCLA tournament? You decide)
Thanks again to one and all.
