I have noticed the SELC has an alumni tournament in which each University gets their alumni together for the games. Have we ever thought about doing that for the UMLL.
Perhaps we could do it in Milwaukee during Summerfest so that you have a reason to come down? Is there any interest in this? I am asking more to gauge interest than anything else, because we all know when it comes down to it the question is....Well, sure we will do it if you are in charge
Just curious thoughts of other players/alumni/coaches from the UMLL?

I don't think the Mil. location would go over very well. A Twin Cities location would probably yield a significantly higher turn out. If it were near the Twin Cities I'm sure I could get at least 10 Mankato alum. to show and a good 10 more to drink root beer on the side line!!! Especially if Fleck's sis is in attendence!

Location is not a big deal. I was just tossing that out there. I am more curious if people are interested in playing. Personally, I would love to go out there with some old alum and have some fun.

I agree with Dylan... MSP is probably the best place to host, and I'm sure we can draw a good group to play, old alums and young. What about State Fair week(end)? Just a thought, considering the draw that event brings year in and year out. So long as you dig farm animals, insect exhibits, gondola rides and reasonable musical draws (I have a girlfriend who loves the fair, so no comments...)

So perhaps since there is some interest someone will want to organize it for next year? Perhaps we could do it over the summer? I suggested it, but I don't have time to organize it.
Do we need league approval or is this just an informal event?

No league approval is necessary.
Should be held at UST or SJU since they have the longest continuous tenures in the league. Carleton would be number 1 if it weren't for a brief hiatus a few years back.

I do not think it would be a problem for SJU to host as we have more then enough facilities but i think that UST would be a more convenient location because i would guess 90% of the UMLL Alum that would attend would live close/in to the twin cities. Not to sure there are many UMLL Alum who are residents of Collegeville or St. Joseph.
.....but i would be fun to have all of the "Alum" downtown St. Joe experiencing the glories of Sal's and The La.

if we are serious bout this, lets toss some dates around... maybe we break the divisions up like we do in the UMLL all-star game, we'll hatch out all the details and I can throw a proposal at the university.

Not to be too "preachy", but I'd guess the university would look upon such a use for it's field in a more positive light if it was something more than just a bunch of guys who want to play lax.....
Perhaps charge a small sum that would be donated to a legitimate, well-known charity of some type?
