Disappointing to see. It looked like he had ASU on the right track.

It should be interesting to see who comes into the fold next year. The Sun Devils have a TON of talent returning and appear to have turned the corner with a win at nationals. Hopefully they can keep the winning attitude going and continue to make some noise in the WCLL and the MCLA.

I think they're talking about the same calendar week... Oregon game was Tuesday in Tempe and Michigan was Saturday in Ann Arbor.
Oregon beat BYU and CSU on consecutive Fridays, so not really in the same week...
Let's be honest though, both are great accomplishments.

I was also disappointed to hear this. I met coach hopkins last week at nationals and he seemed like a cool guy and I liked his coaching style. Hopefully ASU can continue to build on last year's success.

That's a HUGE loss for ASU. It'll be really interesting to see who they get to replace Adam Hopkins.

It will be tough to replace Hopkins. On another note. Any concrete info on the firing of Chad Donnelly at Chapman or are those just rumors?

Hopkins did a great job for the Sun Devils. Adam, best of luck to you as you move back home to Long Island. Also congrats to those Westfall Brothers at Arizona State.

Chapman
Chapman did in fact fire Donnelly...very odd move in my opinion...are they going varsity and thought they could get a bigger "name" coach?

Varsity.....not likely. It probably has more to do with the WCLL sanctions received by Chapman and the ensuing threatened legal battle which was in direct conflict with the school's recommendation not to pursue. However, we will probably never know for sure.

I didn't know about both of these, I had heard about a few other things.........but neither of these.
Man, that does not look good for the WCLL. I hope that they are able to find some people that can step in and fill these positions that will maintain what they have built.

Its not good for ASU but as a coach, probably a better move. in lacrosse terms Long Island vs ASU is not much of a choice. Good luck to him and I hope ASU finds a great coach because they have some real good players over there. I also heard that there is some turmoil going on at CU with that coaching staff

I wouldn't either if I knew you were going to spread it all over a message board.
